1, water cutting and laser cutting
Laser cutting is a manufacturing method to improve productivity, and of course it has its uses. And water cutting is indeed superior to laser in some aspects:
A, there is no limit of cutting thickness;
B, reflective materials such as brass and aluminum can also be cut;
C, no heat energy is needed, so it will not burn and will not produce thermal effect;
D. When you change the cutting material, the only thing you need to change is the cutting speed; Changing gas, focus or other objects without authorization;
E, it is easy to install more cutting heads to improve productivity. F the maintenance of laser equipment is more professional and more difficult;
G, you can use 1/2 to 1/3 to buy a complete set of water cutting equipment.
2, water cutting and milling cutting
If you want to cut the periphery of the workpiece and drill holes, you should choose a faster, easier to arrange and cheaper sand knife instead of blind holes, drilling holes and threads. Mainly because we only need water to cut the workpiece once, and we don't need to grind all the metals into pieces. When it is necessary to cut high-precision workpieces, the sand cutter is a machine tool that can be used to produce finished products, and it can be processed at one time without thermal effect. In addition, the waste produced by sand knives is usually valuable, because it is in the form of a whole block rather than chips and can be reused.
3, water cutting and arc, flame cutting
Obviously, plasma is a thermal processing process, which will have a thermal effect on the finished product. However, surface treatment with sand knife is usually better, and there will be no scum on the back of the workpiece, which can reduce secondary processing. The thickness of sand knife cutting is not limited, which can reduce the typesetting spacing of cutting patterns and save material cost.
4. Comparison between water cutting and laser cutting
Laser cutting equipment has a large investment and is mostly used for cutting thin steel plates and some non-metallic materials. The cutting speed is fast and the precision is high, but laser cutting will produce arc marks and thermal effects at the slit. In addition, the cutting effect of laser cutting on some materials, such as aluminum, copper and other non-ferrous metals and alloys, is not ideal, especially for thicker metal plates, and the cutting surface is not ideal or even impossible to cut. The research of high-power laser generator is to solve the problem of cutting thick steel plate, but the cost of equipment investment, maintenance and operation is also considerable. Water cutting has the advantages of low investment, low operating cost, wide range of cutting materials, high efficiency and convenient operation and maintenance.
5, water cutting and plasma cutting
Plasma cutting has obvious thermal effect and low precision, and it is not easy to process the cutting surface twice. Water cutting belongs to cold cutting, no thermal deformation, good cutting surface quality, no need for secondary processing, and it is easy to carry out secondary processing when necessary.
6, water cutting and wire cutting
Wire cutting is very accurate, but the cutting speed is very slow. It requires electrical conductors and produces thermal effects. For metal processing, the precision of wire cutting is high, but the speed is very slow, and sometimes other methods are needed to cut, so the cutting size is greatly limited. Water cutting can die-cut any material, with fast cutting speed and flexible processing size.
