Luo Chengen (1504? - 1582? Ruzhong, a native of Yangshan, Huai 'an (now Huai 'an County, Jiangsu Province), was born in a family where a small bureaucrat fell into a small businessman. His father likes reading very much and is a man with a sense of justice. Wu Cheng'en was smart, studious and cultured since childhood. In its heyday, his note novels showed humorous style and lively literary talent. However, he was repeatedly frustrated in the examination room until he was about forty years old. Later, he studied in imperial academy, Nanjing, and served as a county official in Changxing, Zhejiang from 65438 to 0566. Because of his proud personality, he was soon wrongly imprisoned. After being released from prison, he made up lessons for Jingfu and lived in seclusion at home until his death.

Besides Journey to the West, his other works are also rich, but most of them are lost because of poor family and childless. Sheyang's survival draft consists of four volumes, this episode and the later episode. It is the complete works of Wu Cheng'en's poems and ancient prose.
