There was a young man who was going to the capital to take the imperial examination.
On the way to Beijing to take the exam, when someone praised him, his confidence greatly increased; but when someone belittled him, he became depressed.
So he was confused and went to the Zen master for advice.
The young man said to the Zen master: "Master, some people say I am a genius, and some people call me a fool. What do you think?"
The master asked: "Then you are How do you view yourself?"
The young man looked confused and thought for a while and said, "I don't know either."
The Zen master said, "For example, a pound of rice. In the eyes of the baker, it is sesame cake, in the eyes of the wine merchant, it is wine, and in the eyes of the beggar, it is a life-saving meal.
Rice is still a pound of rice, but it is different for different people. What kind of person you are is not determined by others, but by yourself."
The young man suddenly became enlightened and took the exam happily.
Enlightenment

The Italian poet Dante has a famous saying: "Go your own way and let others tell you."
In life, everyone has his own practice and his own way of living. , don’t care too much about other people’s evaluation of you.
The way you view yourself determines your worth.
Be yourself, do your own thing well, and walk your own path.
Only by not living in the eyes of others can you live more comfortably
