Jinjiang Sheng Qiao Middle School, founded on 1956, entered the ranks of first-class standard middle schools in Fujian Province in February 2004. In order to promote quality education in an all-round way and promote students' all-round development, based on the new orientation of "running a famous school in the hometown of overseas Chinese and cultivating characteristic talents", our school has inherited and carried forward the fine tradition of "literature, martial arts, piano, chess, books and painting" in the ancient town of local culture around the "Ten Ones" modern education goal, and established 19 student associations to actively carry out various interest activities. In particular, chess activities, art education and literary writing have fully demonstrated the distinctive features of campus culture. Sheng Qiao Chess Academy, Sheng Qiao Art Troupe, Tracker Literature Society and Sheng Qiao Academy have become the main positions of regular activities, providing a broad supermarket and performance stage for students to develop their personalities.
First, chess activities will last for a long time.
As early as the 1980s, overseas Chinese played chess very actively. On the 30th anniversary of 1986, the provincial chess invitational tournament started in our school. From 65438 to 0994, China Chess, Chess and Go were formally incorporated into campus cultural activities, and a special chess activity room and chess research room were set up. Change the chess course into an elective course, train students systematically, and pay attention to the "three combinations" of chess activities: the combination of theory and practice, the combination of popularization and improvement, and the combination of learning chess and self-cultivation.
Chess activities in our school have played an irreplaceable educational role in cultivating students' sentiment, training students' perseverance, developing students' intelligence, correcting students' psychology and perfecting students' personality. Over the past three years, more than 40 students in the chess group/KLOC-0 have made a series of impressive achievements in chess competitions at all levels. 1999 The first middle school chess competition in Jinjiang City once won the top three in all competitions; Since 1997, the school chess team has won the "four consecutive championships" in Quanzhou middle school students' chess competition, and was chartered by Quanzhou Education Bureau to form a team to participate in Quanzhou middle school students' chess competition. In 2004, China Chess, Chess and Weiqi won the second place in two teams and the third place in the first team respectively, and was selected as one of the "100 experimental schools" for chess education in primary and secondary schools in China, becoming the experimental base of China Chess College. After graduation, many students in the school chess club went to higher schools for further study and achieved good results. Among them, Chen Hongyuan, a young chess player at that time, broke into the national archery team after graduation and won the fourth place in the Asian Championship. Cai Mingxia, a young Go player, won the second place in the provincial chess competition on behalf of Quanzhou, and Cai Tingting studied for a master's degree in the United States. The society praised the chess features of overseas Chinese, and it really deserved its reputation.
Second, art education is rich and colorful.
Dongshi town has a long tradition of folk art, and there are countless famous painters and painters, playing and singing, orchestral and southern sounds lingering in all directions. In the new historical period, schools carry forward traditions, give full play to their advantages, adjust measures to local conditions, actively tap local art resources, build a stage for art activities, and cultivate students' artistic expertise. In the early 1980s, the school introduced Nanyin into the classroom, set up a painting and calligraphy interest group, and trained a group of talents with profound artistic attainments. For example, Cai Changyi, an alumnus, was invited to hold a solo calligraphy exhibition in Malaysia on 1995, and was praised by Datuk Indonesia as "the messenger of artistic civilization and the glory of overseas Chinese in his alma mater". Alumni Cai Jianchang was awarded the honorary title of "China Folk Printmaking Artist".
In the early 1990s, the school put forward the training goal of "one expert and many abilities, one expert and many abilities". A chorus and a dance team were set up, and the program was arranged to perform at the 33rd National Games, which was widely praised. 1996, based on the establishment of artistic interest groups such as electronic piano class and clarinet class, the Voice of Overseas Chinese Art Troupe was established. Since then, the school has continuously improved the art education network, and has formed a new curriculum system that pays equal attention to art education and cultural classes.
After years of exploration and practice, art education has become a highlight of characteristic education in our school. Created one brilliant achievement after another. 199 1 "Taiwan Province province-the hometown of Dongshi" painting and calligraphy exhibition was rated as one of the top ten cultural events in Quanzhou by Quanzhou Evening News. Third, literary writing is brilliant.
Dongshi, as an ancient seaside cultural town in southern Fujian, has nurtured generations of overseas students with its profound cultural accumulation. Longjiang Press, with a history of 169 years, is a good place for students to linger, and the famous sentences of Gubi Villa are even more cultural treasures of students. Dongshi Folk Tales, Dongshi Range Rover, Song of Jinjiang, Minnan Proverbs, etc., co-edited by the Town Cultural Station and our school, have long been required reading for students.
The historical footsteps of overseas Chinese acoustic literature have gone through the stages of "Tengfei Writing Society" and "Fengling Literature Society", and "Traveler Literature Society" was born in 1998. In recent years, the Literary Society has invited many experts from writers' associations in Quanzhou and Fujian to give lectures in our school. Famous writers such as Cai Fangben, Chen Zhize and Xu Mouqing are most willing to impart creative experience to overseas Chinese voices. Master Jin Yong specially signed books such as Passers-by and Blooming Season for the voice of overseas Chinese, and presented the inscription of "Famous Hometown of Overseas Chinese".
Over the past six years, Tracker has trained a large number of crew members who are familiar with the depth of life and love mountain spray. Literary lovers and writers compete for fame.
