? English teacher's speech at the parent-teacher conference (1) Dear parents,
(used when meeting in the afternoon) Good afternoon.
I'm Miss Chen, the children's English teacher. It is a great honor to exchange our English teaching with you through this parent-teacher conference. Looking at my parents and friends sitting here, most of them are the first time we met, but I am familiar with my parents' signatures. Our daily exercise books are basically signed by every parent. Here, I sincerely thank my parents and friends for their support and cooperation in our project.
Some parents may feel a little overwhelmed by their children's English because they don't know English. Even if they sign the exercise book, it is more of a formality. Of course, I mean some parents here. I know that there are some English masters among our parents, and some parents have a far better English level than me. Then, here I will share with you some methods to deal with the homework in the homework book. Whether you know English or not, you can follow or learn what I say. This is actually what I want to communicate with my parents and friends through this parent-teacher meeting. I hope my parents and friends will cooperate.
Our homework in the homework book every day is nothing more than these:
1, copying. For copying homework, parents can see what their children have written at a glance. For homework with poor writing quality, parents can directly let their children rewrite it. Although I don't advocate you to help your child check and correct mistakes, I hope parents can pay more attention if your child's study habits or learning foundation are obviously different from those of most students in the class.
For children in the sixth grade, copying should not be wrong, including correct writing, case, punctuation and so on. I believe that a student who is prone to mistakes in copying will have similar problems in the exam, and it is quite a pity to lose points because of these mistakes. Every time I copy my homework, I will try my best to correct my child's problems. If your child still has problems in copying, I hope parents and friends will pay attention to it.
Having said that, I want to take something out. I hope parents will strengthen the cultivation of children's good learning quality. Especially in view of the actual situation of our class, I find that many students in our class lose points in the exam now, not because they can't do the questions, but because they are not careful enough. And carefulness is a very important good learning quality. It is also harmful to treat learning blindly with the attitude of completing tasks. Personally, I think that losing points because of carelessness is far more regrettable than losing points because of failure.
Dictate words at home and correct them. For this assignment, capable parents can report English words for their children to dictate. If you don't know English, you can report Chinese to your child and let him write English words according to Chinese, or let him write Chinese first and then write it silently, without textbooks or materials. I have explained all these ways and means to the students. I wonder if the students have conveyed such instructions to you. Generally, I ask my children to correct this dictation by themselves. I think this correction is conducive to self-examination. At the same time, you can also find your own problems and make targeted memories.
Speaking of this dictation, I would like to mention the situation of our collective dictation in class at ordinary times. It should be said that the situation is not optimistic. Every dictation, nearly half of the students failed in the exam when they were poor, and there were basically ten when they were few. My requirement is to get more than 90 points in the exam. And I'll ask my children to prepare this dictation the day before. Dictation in exercise books and dictation in class are completely different results. From this, I think that some of our students are copying homework at home, not dictating. The children's last two dictation were particularly good, and about four students failed both dictation. On one occasion, I also conveyed it to my parents by SMS, exempting my children from English homework that day as a reward. The last two dictation, one is self-study in the morning, giving them ten minutes to prepare, and the other is giving students a few minutes to prepare. What does this mean? It's not that our students have memory problems, but that some students don't spend time memorizing words at all, and they can finish the task in just ten minutes or even a few minutes. I think these students are absolutely clever.
Therefore, I hope parents and friends can pay attention to the homework of dictation at home. Vocabulary accumulation is very important for English learning. Without the basic element of words, we can't write sentences, including articles. The more fully prepared students are, the more confident they are in dictation in class, the higher the correct rate, the more they can appreciate the joy of success and the more they can enhance their confidence in learning English. Otherwise, dictation will fail again and again, which can really be said to be a blow to children's learning confidence again and again.
3. Complete the corresponding exercise or exercise paper. On the day of homework, parents can look at their children's completion. Generally, I will correct such homework, and also ask parents to look at my corrected homework regularly in person, so that you can more easily understand your child's usual homework.
4. Signature of the test paper. In fact, parents' signature on the test paper is an external form. My purpose is to let parents know about their children's academic achievements at one stage. Looking at children's test papers, we should not only look at the scores, but also pay attention to the reasons why children make mistakes and whether they are careless. An exam is not only the harvest of scores, but also the harvest of learning methods.
Considering that some students report good news instead of bad news, I will send a text message to my parents every time I send out the test paper. In the recent exam, I arranged the children's ranking in the class at the top left of the children's test paper for your reference, so as to know where the children are in the class.
5. Oral homework. This should also be a regular English homework. Usually it is used more in homework, but I think for some students, the effect of this kind of homework is not good. For example, some time ago, I assigned an oral homework of reading sentence patterns, but in the subsequent classroom spot check, the situation was not good. I hope parents can help with this homework, whether you understand it or not, whether the children read it carefully or not, I think it is definitely rewarding to read it once, even if you only read it once and pay attention to one or two sentences.
I will ask students to bring back their homework notebooks every day for parents to sign. I hope parents pay attention. "Did you sign it today?"
Next, I want to share with you a teaching clip from our review stage. At present, our review classes are basically based on the explanation of exercise papers, and I will review and scroll repeatedly with the knowledge points involved in the exercises. Once, after I explained ten multiple-choice questions and explained the reasons for choosing those answers, I gave the students 2-3 minutes to sort out their memories and then took the students to explain themselves. As a result, the students who just finished standing for half a class, and some even can't find them anywhere. Of course, this does not rule out that some of them lost their information before I spoke. I tell this clip mainly to emphasize that the effect of some of our students' lectures is really unsatisfactory, and I hope parents can pay attention to it.
Some parents may think that their children will listen to the teacher more, but in fact, I think your parents are not young. Some time ago, some of our classmates didn't hand in their homework very well, even if they were urged, it wouldn't help. I said, "I wrote down the names of the classmates who didn't hand in their homework." Anyway, the parent-teacher conference will be held soon. At that time, I will say which classmates and which homework have not been completed. "During this period, the situation of handing in homework has obviously improved a lot. Some students often ask me if I have any homework that I haven't made up. I think all this is due to your parents. Then, since all the students have left, I will communicate with individual parents by SMS or individual communication.
Sorry, the above exchanges are basically about the shortcomings of our students. If there is anything wrong, please criticize and correct me. I also hope that my parents can give me some valuable opinions or suggestions.
Finally, I want to say that primary school English is in an awkward position on the eve of the sixth grade graduation exam. Every year, the city takes the sixth grade English test, but this score is not included in the total score of the students' final graduation exam. For this, well-informed students are also clear. So what's your attitude towards English on the eve of graduation examination? Many times, your parents' attitude towards this subject can largely determine or influence your children's attitude towards this subject.
English teacher's speech at the parent-teacher conference (2) Dear parents!
Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend the parent-teacher conference! Just now, the head teacher has told you something about the class. In order to make your child become an excellent primary school graduate, they also put forward some suggestions and requirements. Next, I want to take this opportunity to share and discuss the students' English achievements and their understanding of English learning with parents.
This mid-term exam paper is relatively simple. The highest score in the class is 100/99, the lowest score is 64.5/26, and the average score is 90.6/87.3. Parents already know the specific score. If you don't know, you can look at it on the blackboard. It should be said that most students have made progress.
From the students' homework, we can see that most of our parents attach great importance to their children's English learning. I can cooperate with teachers to supervise children's dictation and reading aloud, and sign words. Thank you very much for your understanding and support. Because everyone realizes that English learning plays an important role in our daily life and further study, and it is of great significance. But in front of the results, we also found some problems among the students:
1, some students' learning attitude is not correct enough. They are indifferent to learning English, so they can only muddle along and sometimes fall behind in their homework.
2. Listening is a weakness of students. Although I usually attach great importance to the cultivation of students' listening ability and teach them certain listening skills and techniques, there are still many problems exposed in the exam. In the future teaching, I will give more guidance to listening, telling students to predict what will be involved according to the information in the questions after getting the test paper, so as to reduce the memory load, narrow the scope of information, eliminate nervousness and improve listening efficiency.
3. Word discrimination is also a weakness of students. The key is that some students have poor reading ability. Usually, some students can read 10- 15 minutes of English every day, but a few students don't put it into action.
Reading short passages is the third weakness of students. Reading plays a very important role in the future senior high school entrance examination, college entrance examination, postgraduate entrance examination and CET-4 and CET-6. Reading short passages is to check students' ability to understand and use knowledge. Many times, they will encounter new words outside the classroom. I found that many students are too lazy to look up reference books, and teachers will scribble if they insist on handing them in.
In view of the above problems, I have also studied some methods and strategies, which need the cooperation and support of parents.
1, urge students to listen to English tapes at home for at least 1 hour every week, and it is best to keep listening to 10- 15 minutes every day, which is very helpful for children's study.
2. Digest what you learned that day every day, and don't overstock tasks. So I have an endorsement task when I go home every day. I will organize dictation at the end of each unit for students to take home for their parents to see.
Please ask parents to urge their children to finish their homework at home, so as not to copy each other when they come to school in a hurry. Sometimes I ask parents to sign dictation homework, which is also a little pressure for students to know that parents will often check their homework books and must write them carefully. Parents can let students write or report Chinese meanings themselves, but the most important thing is to urge students to correct them before books after they finish writing. I found that many of our parents are very responsible, they are already doing this, and they are doing very well!
4. Each unit has a reading section and exercises after class. If your children's English foundation is not very good, you can urge them to look up the dictionary at home first and do proper preview. Parents can help their children buy reference books, such as English-Chinese dictionaries. Children can refer to what they encounter in their usual homework, which can cultivate their learning ability and increase extracurricular reading.
The teaching tasks are tight these days, especially now, when the general review stage comes, the homework will increase appropriately, and the children may have some irritability or performance. I hope our parents will educate and guide their children more. In a word, my parents and I have the same wish, and we all want to do our best to train these children. Let's work together, share weal and woe in the final sprint stage, become a mentor and friend in children's lives, and wish them a better tomorrow.
I also hope to keep in touch with my parents in the future. If children encounter learning problems, we will communicate in time.
Finally, I wish our children progress and parents happiness!
English teacher's speech at the parent-teacher conference (3) Hello parents!
I'm Wang Juanjuan, a first-grade English teacher. I'm glad to have such an opportunity to communicate with you face to face. Entering the first grade is a major turning point in children's lives, and their study and life will undergo great changes. In order to make children like and learn English well, today I will share with you some personal educational experiences and details that children need to pay attention to in their study, hoping to help parents and friends solve some doubts and make their study more convenient.
First, the importance of English
I believe every parent has such a knowledge: with the development of society, English is paid more and more attention. "Learning mathematics and physics well, but learning English badly is useless" is a popular description of the importance of English in modern society. If our children can learn English from an early age and master and use English skillfully, it will be extremely beneficial to their personal confidence and future development.
Second, the characteristics of children and the corresponding teaching measures
Children are all 6-8 years old, and one of the characteristics of * * * is fun and active. Attention can't be sustained and stable. But they are cute, smart and enthusiastic. Is in the best period of mastering language. As their English teacher, I will do my duty and try my best to teach through various interesting teaching activities.
Third, the characteristics of teaching materials
This semester, the school adopted a new textbook, Oxford Primary School English by Yilin Publishing House, and completed a book every semester. This book has 10 units, and each unit is divided into three parts, which require listening, recognizing and speaking respectively. In terms of difficulty, this textbook is much simpler than the FLTRP version adopted by the school last year, with a small vocabulary and simple sentence patterns, which greatly reduces the learning pressure of children and the difficulty of parents' counseling. Teaching materials follow the law of from shallow to deep, from easy to difficult. The selected content is related to students' daily life, which can be closely combined with their usual life experiences, effectively combining theory with practice, and giving children the opportunity to practice oral English in real life.
Fourth, the cultivation of good study habits.
Pay attention to the completion of children's reading homework. In the primary stage of English learning, there are generally few writing assignments, mostly reading assignments. Reading homework is also important. When you finish reading, be sure to let the children read it aloud to you. Even if you don't have time to listen when doing housework, let your child read it to you. If the teacher asks you to read it several times, you must finish it several times. Of course, this is only in a general sense. () That is, the teacher thinks that children can remember it after watching it several times. If the child can't fully grasp it, he can read it several times, depending on the child's memory. After reading it, parents should sign it, and how many times should they sign it, and whether it is good or not.
Fifth, establish the concept that home-school cooperative education can achieve the best results.
We should establish a correct concept of education. In modern society, schools and families have the greatest influence on children in primary school. The development of students in the same school and the same teacher is very different. Some students study well and can be admitted to the ideal key middle school, while others are unsatisfactory and even struggling. Why? Apart from the individual reasons of children, the difference in family education is the main reason for the difference. Parents spend a lot of time and energy raising their children after giving birth. Your attitude and habits determine your child's attitude and habits.
Sixth, pay attention to encouraging evaluation and promote the harmonious development of students.
When children first enter primary school, they will also face many challenges and difficulties as children. We should use more praise and encouragement. As the saying goes, failure is the mother of success, but for children at this stage, "success" is the mother of success: only by constantly improving and being praised can they have interest and confidence in learning and lay a good foundation for future learning. We should try our best to discover children's small progress and encourage them more. For children who have some difficulties in learning, remember not to use words that hurt self-esteem. This may ruin their lives. You must think that the knowledge of the first grade is too simple for adults, but it is different for children, and each child's acceptance ability is different. Give your child more time to digest and absorb, and don't rush for success.
These are some suggestions that I have communicated with my parents. Please criticize and correct the improper points. I hope that with the joint efforts of teachers, children and parents, I can see the progress of children as soon as possible. English Teachers' Speech at Kindergarten Parents' Meeting
