According to legend, in 206 BC, Liu Bang became king and settled in Zhengnan, south of the country. Han Xin went to Nanzheng to join Liu Bang. Although he was recommended by Xiao He many times, Liu Bang did not take Han Xin seriously, so Han Xin ran away sadly. When Xiao He heard the news that Han Xin had escaped privately, he personally recovered Han Xin near Qingqiao Station without having time to report it to Liu Bang. He repeatedly stated the benefits of Han Xin's reuse in front of Liu Bang, so he persuaded Liu Bang and said: "Choose a good day. Set up a altar and pay homage to Han Xin as a general.
Han Xin, Shi Yu was not reused when he was young, so he fled back to Liu Bang, but was not reused, and then fled to the Fan River in Liuba County. The water rose at night and could not be crossed, so he was recovered by Xiao He. Xiao He persuaded Liu Bang to choose a good day, set up a altar, and worship Han Xin as a general.
Historical records
Han Xin was from Huaiyin. At the end of the Qin Dynasty, the peasant uprising army and the old nobles of the six countries rebelled against the Qin Dynasty. Han Xin defected to Xiang Liang's subordinates. After Xiang Liang's defeat, he belonged to Xiang Yu. In 206 BC, Liu Bang became the king of Han and his capital was Nanzheng. Han Xin "surrendered Chu and returned to Han" and defected to Liu Bang. In the same year, Liu Bang adopted Xiao He's suggestion and made Han Xin his general. According to "Historical Records: Biography of the Marquis of Huaiyin": "...the king wanted to summon Xin to worship him, but He said: 'The king has always been arrogant and rude, and now he is bowing to the general as if he were calling a child's ears. This is why Xin went. The king must want to worship him, On a good day, you should fast and set up a altar with rituals. The king promised it. All the generals were happy, and everyone thought that he had won the general. Han Xin was also surprised. " p>
The "mandala" mentioned here is what later generations call the "Altar of Worship". "Hanzhong Fuzhi" records: "The platform for worshiping generals is under the south city. It is said that the emperor of the Han Dynasty worshiped Han Xin as a general and built it to receive orders. The current site still exists."
After worshiping the generals, Han Xin led his troops to attack He established Wei, lifted Zhao, surrendered Yan, established Qi, and destroyed Chu. He established great military exploits for the Liu Han Dynasty and was named the King of Chu. Together with Xiao He and Zhang Liang, he was called the Three Heroes of the Han Dynasty. In the sixth year of King Han's reign, someone accused Han Xin of treason, and Liu Bang demoted Han Xin to the rank of Marquis of Huaiyin. In the eleventh year of the Han Dynasty, Han Xin was killed by Empress Lu.
A generation of heroes has passed away long ago, but this altar of worship will remain in the world forever. In 1938, Feng Yuxiang erected a stele at the General Worship Altar, with the inscription: "Three heroes with unparalleled honours, and their prestige on the altar shocked an entire army." (The stele has been lost today). After liberation, the people's government attached great importance to the protection of the Altar of Worship and allocated special funds for repairs. The altar is surrounded by green vegetable beds, shaded by elms and willows, and the scenery is beautiful. The Altar of Worship is attracting more and more tourists with its new look.
