What should I do if the transfer check is lost?
Ordinary checks and cash checks that have been issued should be reported to the bank immediately for loss or theft.
(1) If the drawer loses or steals a signed cheque with complete contents and can withdraw cash directly, he shall issue an official letter or relevant certificates, fill in an application form for reporting the loss of the cheque in duplicate (which can be replaced by a bank statement), affix the signature style and seal of the reserved bank, and apply to the opening bank for stopping payment. If the bank finds that the check has not been paid, the bank will accept the loss report after charging the loss report fee, and indicate the check number and the date of loss report in red ink on the loss report account.
(2) If the payee loses or embezzles a cheque that can be drawn directly from the bank, he shall also issue an official letter or relevant certificates, fill in two applications for reporting the loss and stopping payment, and apply to the payee's bank for reporting the loss and stopping payment after being signed and authenticated by the payer. Other related procedures are the same as above. At the same time, according to the third paragraph of Article 15 of the Negotiable Instruments Law:
The lost person shall apply to the people's court for a public reminder or bring a lawsuit in accordance with the law within three months after the notice of reporting the loss or stopping payment is issued or the bill is lost.
. That is to say, after the bill is stolen, lost or destroyed, the endorsee shall file an application for public notice with the basic people's court of the place where the bill is paid (that is, the place where the bill is paid) in writing. When applying to the people's court, the lost person shall explain the main contents of the bill, the amount of the bill, the drawer, the payer and the endorser, explain the loss of the bill, produce relevant evidence to prove that he is indeed the holder of the lost bill, and have the right to apply.
What is a transfer check?
The transfer cheque is issued by the drawer, and the bank entrusted to handle the cheque deposit unconditionally pays a certain amount of bills to the payee or holder at the sight of the cheque; Units and individual customers can issue transfer checks and deposit them in various fund deposit accounts traded in the same city, and entrust banks to handle payment procedures. Transfer cheque can only be used for transfer.
