Childhood
kobe bean bryant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA on August 23rd, 1978, which is Joe Bryant and Papa. [8] Before he was born, his parents named him Kobe-- the name of a Japanese steak. Kobe was seen on the menu of a restaurant when he was a child. [18] Kobe has two sisters, Celia and Shaya. Kobe's father, Joe, played for the Philadelphia 76ers, the San Diego Clippers and the Houston Rockets for eight seasons in the NBA. [9][8] When Kobe was about one year old, Joe was traded to the Clippers, and he moved to Southern California with his family. Kobe began to learn to play basketball with his father when he was three years old. His favorite player is Magic Johnson, and he declared that the Los Angeles Lakers are his favorite team. [8] After that, Joe was traded to the Rockets and spent a season in Houston. Retired from the NBA in 1983. [19] When Kobe was 6 years old [2], Joe moved his family to Italy to continue his professional basketball career. Joe signed a contract with a team in Rieti town. The three children will practice Italian after school, and they will all speak Italian fluently after one year. [9][8] Kobe spent eight years as a child in Italy [9]. Besides playing basketball, he also likes playing football. He is a fan of Barcelona Club, and his favorite is former Barcelona player Ronaldinho and Messi who has played for Barcelona since 24. [2] In 1991 [21] When Joe retired, he moved his family back to America. [8][22]
In high school
Kobe entered Raul Merion High School in Pennsylvania. All the senior high school students made their first appearances in four years. [9] In the third year of high school, he averaged 31.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists, and won the Pennsylvania Player of the Year. In senior year of high school, Kobe averaged 3.8 points, 12 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 4 steals and 3.8 blocks. He led Raul Merion High School to a 31-3 record, including a wave of high school Kobe Bryant (wearing No.33) who won 27 consecutive victories until the end of the season and won the state championship. [8][19] Kobe scored a career-high 5 points against Marple Newtow, and scored 34 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 9 blocked shots in the district championship. [9] In 1995, Kobe attended the Adidas ABCD training camp and met his teammate lamar odom. [23] In his last three years of high school, he led the high school team to get a record of 77-13. In high school, Kobe Bryant scored 2883 points, making him the highest scoring record in high school basketball in southeastern Pennsylvania, breaking the records of Hall of Fame player wilt chamberlain (2359 points) and St. Joseph player Carlin Warley(2441 points). [9][8] When he was in high school, Kobe began to contact social celebrities. In 1996, Kobe invited R&; B female singer Brandy Norwood attended her graduation dance. [8][24] (Little tidbit: Kobe later made a guest appearance in a sitcom called Moesha by Brandy [24]) Kobe got 18 points in the SAT on graduation [25], which was enough to ensure that he got a basketball scholarship and entered a good university. Duke University wanted to recruit Kobe into the school, but Kobe chose to skip the university and enter the NBA draft directly from high school. [8][26]
NBA career
Kobe Bryant moved to the Los Angeles Lakers in 1996, and Kobe Bryant was selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the 13th place in the first round in 1996. At the age of 17, he became the youngest guard player to be elected to the NBA directly from high school. [8] Became the 27th player to enter the NBA directly from high school, and one of the two high school players who entered the league in 1996 (the other is Jermaine ONeal). [19] Because Lakers general manager Jerry West valued Kobe's talent, on July 11th, 1996 [19] he traded Lakers center Vlade Divac for Kobe. The free salary space also created conditions for signing free agent shaquille o'neal in the summer. [8] Because Kobe is only 17 years old, his parents can only sign the contract with the team instead of him, and he can't sign the contract with the team himself until Kobe is 18 years old. [27][28] In his initial NBA career (1996-1999), in order to adapt him to NBA games, Kobe played as a substitute player for the first two seasons. In his first three seasons, the Lakers rarely won the playoffs, and were swept out of the western conference finals in 1998 and 1999. [8] In the rookie season, Kobe played 71 times (6 starts), averaging 7.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and playing for 15.5 minutes. At that time, he became the youngest player in NBA history (the record was later held by teammate andrew bynum [29]), and he was also the youngest starter. [9] Won the championship in the all-star dunk contest in 1997. [3] In the same year, he was selected as the second team of NBA's best rookie with his teammate Travis Knight, and became the youngest player to be selected as the best rookie team. [31] [32] The 1996-97 season ended after Kobe Bryant made three airball shots at the last critical moment. [33] In the fourth quarter, he missed the first shot to win the game, and missed two equalizers in the last minute of overtime. In this way, the Utah Jazz beat the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs. Shaquille o'neal commented a few years later: "(Kobe) is the only guy who dares to shoot like that at that moment." [34] In the 1997-98 season, Kobe averaged 15.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26. minutes. Became the highest scoring player among non-starter players in the league and the highest scoring player as a substitute player in the history of the Lakers (starting less than 1 games). [19] The increase of Kobe's playing time is due to the tactical arrangement of the team's "small lineup", when Kobe will play the position of small forward instead of the usual shooting guard/point guard. [35] Kobe also ranked second in the 1998 NBA Sixth Man Award. In the second season, Kobe Bryant was selected as an All-Star Team in 1998 by fans' voting, along with his teammates shaquille o'neal, Eddie Jones and nick van exel, which made them the first time that four players from the same team were selected for the same NBA All-Star Game since 1983. At the same time, Kobe became the youngest all-star player in NBA history. [8] In the 1998-99 season, he was the only player in the team who was full-time in 5 games (only played 5 games in the whole season due to labor disputes). In the whole season, Kobe averaged 1.44 steals per game and was able to get the second highest score of 19.9 points. [9] Because eddie jones and nick van exel were traded, Kobe became the starting player of the team. [19] In the middle of the season, Kobe signed a six-year contract with the Lakers worth about $7 million. This contract enables Kobe to play for the Lakers until the 23-4 season. Although only in the early stage of his career, some sports reporters have begun to compare Kobe's skills with Michael Jordan and Earvin Johnson. [27][39][4] And there was no improvement in the playoffs this year, and it was swept out by the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference semifinals. [41] During the Lakers Dynasty (1999-22), with the arrival of phil jackson, Kobe entered the second stage of his career, during which he changed from a star to a superstar. [8] phil jackson used the triangle attack tactics he used when he won the Chicago Bulls' six championships, which helped the Lakers become an NBA championship team. The three consecutive championships in 2, 21 and 22 were the best proof. [42] At the beginning of the season, Kobe Bryant had to stay in the audience for six weeks because he injured his right hand in the preseason game against the Washington Wizards. After returning to the game, under the guidance of the new coach, Kobe's offensive power improved. During the 1999-2 season, he made 66 appearances for the Lakers. In 38.2 minutes, Lakers dynasty O 'Neill Kobe Jackson averaged 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. [8][19] The average number of assists and steals per game is the first in the team. Thanks to the return of O 'Neill and Kobe Bryant, and the strong bench lineup, the Lakers won the fifth highest number of regular season wins in NBA history-67 games. O 'Neal won the MVP of the regular season that year, while Kobe was selected for the second team of the NBA's best team and the first team of the NBA's best defense for the first time (becoming the youngest player to win this honor). [43] In the same year, he was selected to the All-Star Team for the second time, and since then he has been selected to the All-Star Game for 12 consecutive years. Although Kobe only played the second role in the playoffs, he scored 25 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocked shots in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals against Portland Trailblazers. [44] There was also an aerial relay with O 'Neill, which won the Western Conference finals series. In the finals against Indiana Pacers, Kobe sprained his ankle in the second quarter of the second game and didn't appear again until the fourth game. In the fourth game, O 'Neal fouled out of the game in overtime, and Kobe scored 8 points to lead the team to win the game 12-118. [45] In the 2 playoffs, he averaged 21.1 points per game. After six big games in the finals, he joined hands with O 'Neill to lead the team to the first NBA championship since 1988. [8] [45] [46] [47] Commemorative photo of Kobe and his parents after winning the championship in 2. A photo of Kobe and his two sisters Sharia and Shayla was taken in the 2-1 season. Kobe played 68 times, which improved in every data, averaging 28.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5. assists, and the playing time also increased to 4.9 minutes. But it was this year that the contradiction between Kobe Bryant and O 'Neal began to appear. [48] Although the Lakers won only 56 games this season, 11 games less than last season, they scored an excellent 15-1 in the playoffs. They easily swept the Portland Trailblazers, Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs until they lost a game in overtime against Philadelphia 76ers in the finals. [49] In 16 playoff games, Kobe can get 29.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists. In the playoff games, O 'Neill declared that Kobe is the best player in the league. [33] His improvement of attack power helped the team win the NBA championship for the second consecutive year. [8] [19] In the 21-2 season, although his average score dropped to 25.2 points, he was still able to send out comprehensive data of 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists, and Kobe's shooting percentage reached a career high of 46.9% in this season. In the 21-2 season, Kobe Bryant was selected for the first time in the NBA. In the same year, Kobe got his first all-star MVP trophy with comprehensive data of 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. [8] In the playoffs, I faced the Trailblazers in the first round and swept my opponent 3- again. I defeated the Spurs 4-1 in the second round and the Kings 4-3 in the Western Conference finals. In the finals, he defeated the New Jersey Nets 4- and won the NBA championship for the third time in a row. In the playoffs, Kobe averaged 26.8 points, 51.4% shooting percentage, 5.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists, among which the score accounted for a quarter of the team's score. [8][19][5] At the age of 23, Kobe became the youngest player to win three championships. [51][52] Short Low Tide (22-24) In the 22-3 season, Kobe played 5 wins and 32 losses in the regular season. For the first time, he was full-time in 82 games of the season, averaging 41.5 minutes of playing time, scoring 3. points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.2 steals. He scored 4+ in 9 consecutive games and 35+ in 13 consecutive games, all of which set personal records. In February 23, he averaged 4.6 points per game, becoming the third player in NBA history to average more than 4 points per game in a single month. [9] [19] averaged 32.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 12 playoff games.
