The design concept of the ice pier
The ice pier is the mascot of the 222 Beijing Winter Olympics, symbolizing the strong body, tenacious will and inspiring Olympic spirit of the Winter Olympics athletes. Ice, a symbol of purity and strength, is the characteristic of the Winter Olympics. Dundun means healthy, lively and lovely. It conforms to the overall image of the panda and embodies the characteristics of winter ice and snow sports.
The ice pier is designed based on the panda. Panda is recognized as the national treasure of China in the world. Its image is friendly, lovely and naive, and it is deeply loved by people all over the world, especially by teenagers. The anthropomorphic panda in the 3D design of Bingdundun embodies the idea of harmonious life between man and nature.
The shape of the head shell is taken from the helmet of ice and snow sports, decorated with colorful halo, and it is inspired by the ice ribbon of the National Speed Skating Hall of Beijing Winter Olympics. The flowing bright color lines symbolize the track of ice and snow sports and 5G high technology, and the heart-shaped pattern in the palm of the left hand represents the warm welcome of the host country to friends all over the world.
Its overall image resembles that of an astronaut, which means creating extraordinary things and exploring the future, and embodies the infinite possibilities of pursuing Excellence, leading the times and facing the future.
