The letter of credence is a formal document sent from the head of state to the head of the receiving country when a country sends or recalls an ambassador or minister. There are originals and copies. The original is signed by the head of the sending country and countersigned by the minister of foreign affairs, while the copy is printed with the signatures of the head of state and the minister of foreign affairs and is not signed. Credentials are divided into sending credentials and recalling credentials.
