How to name a series when inserting a chart in EXCEL?
The sequence name is the text that appears in the chart legend. In some cases, you can choose to display names in a chart instead of text in a worksheet. Changing the name of a series is very simple and can be achieved in the following ways:

(1) Activate this chart.

(2) Select Chart Tools | Design | Data | Select Data to display the Select Data Source dialog box. ?

(3) In the Select Data Source dialog box, select the series to be modified, and then click the Edit button to display the Edit Data Series dialog box. ?

(4) Enter a new name in the "Series Name" input box. Generally speaking, the "Series Name" input box has a cell reference, but you can ignore it and enter the text directly. ?

Note: If you return to the renamed series, you will find that Excel converts the text into the formula-equal sign, followed by the text entered in the reference label (new series name). Figure 3- 1 1 shows the result of changing the series names in the previous chart. The first variable of each series of formulas no longer displays cell references, but directly contains text. For example, the formula of the first series is as follows: =SERIES("Branch 1 ",Sheetl! $A$4:$A$8,Sheetl! 4 USD: 8,65438 USD +0 USD)

If you need to change the name of the series, you may find it easier to edit the series formula directly.
