Tian Yunzhang, courtesy name Cunwen, owner of Panyizhai, was born in Tianjin in 1945. His native place is Hexi Village, Wofotang Township, Hejian County, Hebei Province. Tian Yunzhang’s family background
Grandfather Tian Shijie (1881~1953), named Junyan, whose courtesy name is Xiaofeng, is known by his stage name Shijie, and he works by his stage name. A native of Hexi Village, Wofotang Township, Hejian County, Hebei Province. He was good at reading and studying calligraphy when he was young, and he was good at European calligraphy and small regular script. Unfortunately, his handwriting has not been passed down. Father Tian Yinting (1915~1997), whose courtesy name was Yuechuan and whose nickname was Shengjiao, was originally from Hexi Village, Wofotang Township, Hejian, Hebei Province. He inherited his family education since he was a child and studied calligraphy with his father Tian Shijie and brother Tian Qishan. He is extremely intelligent and diligent, and is good at regular script, running script and cursive script, especially running script.
