Huang Dapeng (1908-1931), a native of Badong, Hubei Province, was one of the founders of the Baguixing Base Area during the Second Civil Revolutionary War; in 1924, he was admitted to the Third Normal School of Yichang Province. In 1926, he joined the Communist Party of China and assisted Zhang Huafu in his work; on March 18, 1928, he and Zhang Huafu launched the Badong Uprising and established the County People's Committee. Later, in order to preserve their strength, he moved to Jiangbei to establish a guerrilla force and continue the struggle; 1930 On May 1931, the guerrillas rushed to Xingshan and entered the county seat. They were ordered to reorganize into the 49th Division of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, with Huang Dapeng as political commissar. On April 4, 1931, He Long led the Red Army to pass through Badong and met with Ba Guixing. The leader of the Soviet area reorganized the 49th Red Division into the Second Division of the Third Red Army Teaching Division, with Huang Dapeng as the division commander. In October of the same year, he encountered the enemy on his way back to Badong with his troops and died heroically.
