Visa
The main basis for the Colombian Foreign Affairs Department to accept visas for foreigners is the "Immigration Law" promulgated in 1996. The main contents are:
(1) Foreign Persons applying for visas should apply in person or by their authorized representatives or agents. In any case the applicant must sign the application form. Art, culture, sports groups, etc. can use the contract signer as a representative or agent to apply for visas.
(2) Visa application procedures:
1. Submit valid passport and photocopy for verification;
2. Fill in the application form truthfully;
3. Provide necessary documents (such as no criminal certificate, physical examination certificate, etc.)
(3) Types of visas
There are two categories: temporary visas and settlement visas. Temporary visas are divided into special visas (mainly diplomatic visas, official visas and official visas), courtesy visas, business visas, ordinary visas (which are further divided into labor, academic, journalist, performance, student, etc.), Immigration visas and visit visas, etc.; settlement visas are divided into pensioner visas, Colombian citizen spouse visas, refugee or asylum seeker visas, investor visas, etc.
(4) Things to note when applying for a visa
You need to apply 4 weeks in advance; the passport is valid for no less than 3 months and must be signed by the holder; when applying for a visa for the first time, you must present a valid A criminal certificate certified and translated into Spanish; no transit visa is issued. If you do not leave the airport within 24 hours, you will be exempted from applying for a visa. If you do not leave the airport within 24 hours, you will need to apply for a visa; the visa will be effective from the date of issuance.
II. Entry Instructions
(1) The border ports determined by the Colombian Exit and Entry Administration Department are: Bogota, Barranquilla, Bucaramanca, Cali, and Cartagena Na, Cúcuta, Leticia, Medellin and other airports, Barranquilla, Cartagena and other seaports, Araucan inland port, Cúcuta and other land ports.

1. Entering the country at non-prescribed border ports

Passengers by air must fill in two customs declaration forms when entering the country. They should truthfully fill in the amount of foreign exchange they carry and submit one. Customs, keep the other one by yourself for reference when leaving the country. According to the latest regulations, each passenger can carry up to 10,000 US dollars or the equivalent in foreign exchange when entering or exiting the country. Animal and plant quarantine at the Colombian border is also very strict. Passengers carrying fresh food, animals, animal and plant specimens, various meats, etc. must declare and undergo inspection.
In addition, Colombia is the world's major drug producing country, and money laundering, smuggling and other activities are rampant in Colombia. Therefore, Colombian customs and security departments are extremely strict in interrogating passengers' carry-on items.
