Lozon Rinpoche was born in an ordinary Tibetan herdsman family in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province in 1973. After his mother passed away in 1982, he became a monk and practiced Buddhism there. In 2007, he adopted three children who lost their parents in a car accident and named the family formed by these children "Hope Children's Home".
