WU GANG began to write essays in the mid-1950s, and his works were scattered in People's Daily, Essays Monthly, Fujian Daily, Haimen Daily, Shanwei Daily, Gansu Daily, Gansu Economic Daily, Gansu Geology and Mineral News, People's Voice News and Party Construction. Since the reform and opening up, WU GANG's prose creation has entered a new stage, and he has become one of the accomplished and influential prose writers in Gansu Province. 1995, his first collection of essays, Xiangyang Collection, was officially published, with more than 200 essays and 370,000 words. 1997, his second collection of essays, Ding Xinji, was published, with nearly100,200,000 words. 1999, his third collection of essays, Selected Essays of Gansu in Fifty Years, was published, with more than 1 10 articles and 2 10000 words. Since the new century, his prose has also presented a bumper harvest, and the fourth collection of essays, Zheng Yang Ji, is expected to be published in the near future, with more than 200,000 words.
WU GANG is a hard worker. He cares about state affairs and people's lives. He has a keen perspective, a clear view, a feeling and an attitude of facing life directly. The distinctive features of his essays are: keeping pace with the times, praising the light, criticizing the disadvantages of the times, sharp writing, strong flavor of the times, earthy flavor of life and indomitable fighting style. Shortly after the reform and opening-up, his prose collections include Short-lived Extreme Left, Thinking of Professor Jumping from a Building, Breaking the God of Culture, Ignorance in Chaos and so on. Recalling history and connecting with the present has profoundly exposed the nature of the disaster that "extreme left" has brought to the country and people. Works such as From Cutting to Heavy Thinking, Ode to Commodities and Ode to the Market sharply criticized the ultra-left ideological trend of cutting the market, commodities and private enterprises into the "capitalist tail", enthusiastically eulogized the basic line of the party's reform and opening up and the primary stage of socialism, and made a major scientific decision to write private enterprises into the Constitution as an important part of the socialist market economy.
In recent years, his works, such as Resignation of Chen Danqing, Is it reasonable to defile Confucius in this way, Disillusionment of Dreams, Sacrifice to Ancestors, and the feat of love, have clearly praised the truth, goodness and beauty, criticized the false, evil and ugly, praised Wenchuan's earthquake relief feat, promoted benevolence, justice and China's traditional culture, and criticized the bad atmosphere in society, which has produced good results. The Disillusionment of Dreams was published by Gansu Economic Daily, Essay Monthly, Friends, Radio and Television Old Man, Shanwei Daily, Gansu Geology and Mineral News and other newspapers. Chen Danqing's resignation was reasonable and severely criticized the rigid mode of "one politics, two foreign majors and three majors" in higher education examination, which was published in Gansu Economic Daily, Essay Monthly and Essay Monthly, and was selected as the national essay selection in 2006. It is precisely because WU GANG's essays have distinctive personality, the essayist wuyue's evaluation of his essays is "writing for the times", such as the "stone" in Zhang Qing's hand in "Water Margin" and "often hitting it with one blow". Some readers in Shanghai and Lanzhou call WU GANG's essays "Luxun style". His essays are full of thoughts and justice, but relatively speaking, they lack literary color, which puts forward new and higher requirements for his future creation.
WU GANG also explored the essay theory. He delivered speeches at many national prose annual conferences, stating his views and understanding of prose. His speech at the Tianjin Essay Annual Meeting was entitled "Essays should carry forward China's excellent traditional culture", at the Foshan Essay Annual Meeting in Guangdong Province was entitled "Essays should dare to participate in political system reform", at the Hangzhou Essay Annual Meeting was entitled "Some Perceptions and Understanding of Lu Xun's Essay Creation", at the Kunming Essay Annual Meeting was entitled "Essay Creation Needs Three Closeness", and at the Shenzhen Essay Annual Meeting was entitled "Essay Society in Gansu Province". His comments are very reasonable, and the members' feedback is very enlightening and helpful to them. WU GANG believes that essays are a kind of literary style between political theory and literature, a "light cavalry" of literature, a "barometer" of the times and a text of benevolence and righteousness. Therefore, the author must be strict with himself, upright and upright, remain uncorrupted, care about current affairs, be close to the people, study hard the philosophy of literature and history and scientific knowledge, and be a down-to-earth newcomer and essay writer. He must never seek fame and gain something for nothing.
WU GANG is particularly concerned about the development of prose. From the early 1990s, he served as the vice president and secretary general of Gansu Essay Association for nearly 10 years, and from 1999 to 2005, he served as the president, devoted himself to the essay cause. He united a group of people in the Essay Society, sacrificed a lot of his writing time, made extensive contact with the essay writers in the province, especially the young newcomers, and did a lot of concrete organization, leadership and editing work. Since the third issue, he has compiled Gansu Prose Circle 16, each of which is about 10,000 words, giving a comprehensive introduction to prose creation, achievements, winners' list, members' address book and the trends of prose creation in various provinces and cities. He is almost alone in editing, proofreading and printing, printing 400 copies each issue, distributing them to members and exchanging them all over the country. Together with other members of the leading group, Tian Qichuan, Zhang Jiachang, Xing, Wu, Qi, Wang Boye, etc., we organized the selection of outstanding essays in the whole province 19, and judged about 800 outstanding essays, which played a positive role in cultivating new people. 1999 cooperated with Zhang Jiachang, the third president, to edit and publish Selected Prose of Gansu in Fifty Years, 10 volume1800,000 words, more than 50 authors in the whole province 1500 essays, and comprehensively displayed 65,438. In 2005, taking him as the concrete operator, he edited Gansu New Century Prose Selection "The Rose in Longyuan" together with then President Wu and Executive Vice President Wang Boye, and collected about 200 award-winning essays in Gansu since 2000, with 450,000 words, which once again showed the achievements of Gansu prose creation. Since the end of 2004, he has been employed as the editor-in-chief of Gansu Economic Daily. Essay monthly, he personally selected the manuscript for review. Monthly 1 issue, 4 editions, 4 editions, published 16- 17 articles. Forty-six issues have been published, and about 750 papers have been published, of which 70% are works by authors in this province. WU GANG took prose as his career and devoted himself to his work, which contributed to the development of Gansu prose. In 2005, Gansu Social Science Research Association awarded him the honorary title of "Excellent Social Science Worker in Gansu Province".
"Don't say that Sang Yu is late, because it is still foggy." Although WU GANG is 70 years old, he is still fighting in obscurity on the essay front. His writing is not polished and his enthusiasm is not diminished. I wish him good health, happy spirit and more excellent works.
