On May 25, 2019, Goo Hara was found to have committed suicide at her residence. Her manager immediately sent her to the hospital. Fortunately, her life was not in danger. The agent confirmed that Goo Hara suffers from depression. At around 6 pm on November 24, 2019, Goo Hara was found dead in her residence in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul. She was only 28 years old.

Goo Hara was born in Gwangju, South Korea. She worked as a model in an online shopping mall before her official debut. In 2005, she participated in the competition held by South Korea's SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. Lost in youth performance competition.
In 2007, he participated in the talent show organized by JYP Entertainment and received no attention from the judges.
In 2008, he participated in the audition of South Korea's DSP company and was promoted by the company. He joined the singing group KARA, where he served as deputy lead singer and dancer, and started his acting career.
On July 27, 2008, Goo Hara made her debut with the group KARA when she released her first mini album "Rock U"; on August 10, she held a commemorative fan signing event with the group.
On January 15, 2016, South Korea's DSP Company announced the end of the agency contract with Goo Hara. Goo Hara chose not to renew the contract and left the company. After leaving the company, she chose to sign with KEYEAST agency , developing in the entertainment industry as a multi-talented artist.
