Step 1: Nomination
The nomination process of the NBA Hall of Fame is very rigorous, and only those who have a high reputation in the basketball world are eligible to be nominated. Usually, a person can only be nominated after retiring for at least four years, while coaches and referees have to wait at least one year.
Step 2: Screening
After nomination, the NBA Hall of Fame Selection Committee will evaluate the nominees to determine whether they meet the criteria for entering the Hall of Fame. The evaluation criteria include the player's personal achievements, contribution to the team and the league, leadership and teamwork spirit.
Step 3: Vote
If approved by the evaluation committee, the nominees will be included in the final voting list. This list will be submitted to a voting committee composed of media, players, coaches and management representatives. Every year, the Committee elects a new group of Hall of Fame members.
Step 4: Be selected
If a person gets enough support in the voting, he will be declared a member of the Hall of Fame. At this time, he will be invited to attend the annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony and receive his honor there.
