Su Shi was a relatively prosperous and stable society in the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty. The bold and unconstrained features of his ci mainly come from his own experience. Su Shi's life was ups and downs, and he was repeatedly relegated and frustrated. So he chose to study Buddhism, so he "hated this body for a long time". Su Shi is versatile and everything he dabbles in is wonderful. He is a rare "all-rounder" in the history of China: he follows Du Li in poetry and Liu Han in literature. Among the eight masters in Tang and Song Dynasties, his father and son were called "Sansu", and they were also called "Ou Su" with Ouyang Xiu.
His ci is unique, and he is the representative of the uninhibited school. Also known as "Su Xin" with Xin Qiji.
