This year marks the 500th anniversary of the birth of Wu Cheng'en, the author of The Journey to the West. On September 27th, representatives from all walks of life in Huai 'an, Jiangsu Province, Wu Cheng'en's hometown held the opening ceremony of "Monkey King Family Art Museum" in front of Wu Cheng'en's former residence to commemorate this historical celebrity. In June this year, the People's Government of Huai 'an District of Huai 'an City and the Shanghai Six-year-old Children Culture and Art Company, founded by six-year-old children, jointly built the "Monkey King Family Art Museum" in order to fully excavate and sort out the tourism resources of Wu Cheng'en's former residence scenic spot. The museum is divided into five exhibition halls. For the first time, more than 300 items, such as bronze inscriptions of celebrities, bronze sculptures and stone statues of the Monkey King, are displayed to visitors. Shi Jia Pavilion, which focuses on the artworks collected by four generations of six-year-old children and their artistic life; The collection has a large collection of artworks and precious books and materials related to Journey to the West, Monkey Opera and Monkey. Monkey Opera House, which displays the development history, costumes, masks, props, musical instruments, audio-visual performances of four generations of family monkey operas, and the physical model of Shao Opera performances-Monkey King Thrice Defeats the Skeleton Demon; The screening hall plays the film and television products related to Journey to the West, imitating the wonderful performances of the main characters in Journey to the West; The exhibition hall shows replicas of various works of art, including books, postcards signed by six-year-old children and commemorative stamps for the opening of the Monkey King Family Art Museum. The calligraphy and painting room displays the inscription of the great man Mao Zedong after watching the movie "Monkey King Thrice Defeats the Skeleton Demon" starring six-year-old children, as well as the calligraphy and painting works of 14 famous painters and painters at home and abroad such as Liu Haisu and Sha Menghai. The halls (rooms) are connected by a winding corridor, which is called "Journey to the West Cultural Corridor". Calligraphy and painting artists depict vivid characters in The Journey to the West through strokes, wall carvings and other forms. Qi Gong, a famous calligrapher in China, wrote an inscription for the "Monkey King Family Art Museum".
Huai 'an District also launched a series of activities to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Wu Cheng'en's birth, including 100 fan exhibitions of famous national painters and painters, large-scale special concerts, performances of "Monkey Show" by movie stars of six-year-old children, and Journey to the West Cultural Film Week.
