This man is Liu Xiang, a native of Dayi, Sichuan, and a warlord in Sichuan during the Republic of China. Liu Xiang was admitted to the workshop of Sichuan Army in his early years, and then entered the Sichuan Army crash school to systematically learn military knowledge. Due to the special geographical location of Sichuan, there were dozens of warlords, large and small, among which Yang Sen and Liu were famous.
At first, Liu Xiang's influence was relatively weak, but after many battles, he was good at relying on the strength of others and gradually began to grow, and he was successfully called one of the most powerful warlords in Sichuan. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the warring warlords not only chose a ceasefire, but also gradually reached an understanding and decided to unite with the outside world in an unprecedented way.
On July 25, Liu Xiang ordered all the troops directly under the Central Committee and divisional commanders to return to the original defense within three days. When someone hesitated, Liu Xiang said impassioned: "In order to resist the Japanese war, Sichuan can send 300,000 troops, mobilize 5 million able-bodied men and provide various resident resources such as food." More than a month later, Liu Xiang led his troops out of Sichuan to fight against Japan, and was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Seventh Theater. The fighting area is in the west of Taihu Lake in Jiangsu, parts of northern Zhejiang and southern Anhui.
Before leaving Sichuan, Liu Xiang fell ill, and he was advised to stay in Sichuan to cultivate his morality, instead of leading troops to fight by himself. However, Liu Xiang said: "In the past, various forces fought against each other, and their faces were very disgraceful. Now that everyone is out of Sichuan to resist Japan, how can I live in the rear! " He refused to listen to others' advice and personally led hundreds of thousands of soldiers out of Sichuan to resist Japan.
According to historical records, in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, nearly 3 million Sichuan troops went to the front successively, which made great contributions to the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. 1938, Liu Xiang died in Hankou. Before he died, he left a tearful will: "In the end, as long as the enemy does not withdraw from the border, the Sichuan army will never return home!"
