The humble man cried out for detachment.

Quanzhou has been called "Zou Lu by the Sea" since ancient times. Here, outstanding people, rich historical and cultural accumulation, dotted with places of interest. The profound cultural soil also gave birth to Ouyang Zhan, Cai Xiang, Li Zhi, Zhu, Liang Kejia, Cai Qing, Li Guangdi and other historical and cultural celebrities.
Lai Shouhua is from Quanzhou.
I am "Shousi" Tata, a good friend and fan of Lai Shouhua.
This crowdfunding campaign was launched to let more people know about Lai Shouhua and Lai Xiao Pi in literature and calligraphy.

Lai Shouhua was born in 1980, and his pen name is Lai Xiao Pi. Graduated from Beijing Normal University, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Philosophy. Secretary-General of Beishan Bookstore, member of Fujian Writers' Association and China Calligraphers' Association, currently working in Quanzhou Radio and Television Station.
He said all these introductions were false. Well, let's talk about Lai Shouhua in my mind. We have known each other for ten years, and Confucius said: intellectuals live together, and as a result, we really "live together." At that time, we just graduated from work and shared a small house. My first impression of this man is that there are thousands of books in his room besides books, which is not all his possessions.
Then there are all kinds of rock CDs, from foreign healing and Marilyn Manson to domestic Xie Tianxiao and Zuo Xiaozu Zhou. At that time, both of them were poor, so I enjoyed reading his books and listening to heavy or noisy rock music coming from next door. This is our diaosi time.
One day, I was surprised to find that he actually got a big desk and began to practice calligraphy. This long-term slovenly person would rather eat instant noodles than buy good paper to practice calligraphy. This sloppy man shocked me again.
Later, we moved separately, got married, and had less contact. It is said that he also stagnated in those years. At the time of "parting", he gave me a photo, and I didn't pay attention to it, so I put it directly in the cupboard.
Surprisingly, one day, I heard that he was actually a member of China Book Association. Dear, the title of Chinese character generation is no joke. I know how many old calligraphers, who have been writing for a lifetime, can't get into the China Book Association and engage in the same cultural industry. From this, I have to believe that this bird is really talented. The words I put in the bookcase have been quickly turned out, framed and hung at home. Suddenly, it seems to be a very decent thing to have such a calligrapher friend.
He said that the conditions for membership of the Chinese Writers Association are almost enough. There is a "thank you" on the left foot and a "thank you" on the right foot. Neither of them is the same. It's really cool! But I think this is also reasonable, because my buddy has turned over several literary works since he was a child and is also a literary lover. When I lived with Lai Shouhua, I also read poems and short stories to him, which was really good.
When I was poor, I often waited for his words to be published in newspapers and magazines, and paid our rent with that little remuneration.
A lot of nonsense. This time, Lai Shouhua's first novel "The Humble Man" was officially published!
What book is this? Let's just say that eight of the ten friends I saw around me cried. Although it's a bit corny, it really makes people want to cry. The hero in it has the shadow of Lai Shouhua, whom I am familiar with, but it is not him.
The hero is tired of doing the same job in the media day after day, interviewing and reporting unchangeable news, copying the epitaph of a person named "Zhang Heinv" 500 years ago, and suddenly realizes how humble and ridiculous a person's life is, so he begins to think and redeem himself, and moves from confusion to more confusion. This is the trajectory of a diaosi literary youth's conscious activities in a special time and space.
The narrative of the novel is restrained, and the plot is ups and downs, which makes people want to pursue it constantly like detective novels. The clue of the abandoned baby girl they were looking for was interrupted again and again, and finally he and the girl boarded the inexplicable train respectively. In fact, this is not an escape, but a spiritual liberation.
Lai Shouhua's cultivation of such works as Humble Man is, I believe, related to his long-term study of philosophy. He read widely, read widely, and has many years of work and life experience, so he has this book.
Oh, by the way, this once sloppy guy studied western ethics with a master's degree and was full of ancient Greek and German classical philosophy. Fortunately, only a small part of the brain was burned out. There is still salvation, but the medicine can't stop. His medicine is his novel.
On the other hand, sometimes many people around us buy a pack of cigarettes, spend a bottle of wine and blink at every turn. But a book of twenty or thirty dollars in the bookstore will make him feel expensive. In this respect, Lai Shouhua is an alternative. I don't know what a good book can give you, just 20 or 30 yuan.
We often want our children to love reading and read more, but how many can set an example and read a few pages a day or a week?
Not long ago, Lai Shouhua told me that he hoped someone would pay for The Humble Man, which he wrote in seven or eight years and spent countless long holidays and public holidays. He said he didn't want to give it away. He said the idea was an extravagant hope. As early as twelve or thirteen years ago, when he was a student, he discovered this problem: literature is dead. Or should I say: the market for pure literature is dead.
Lai Shouhua engaged in his novel creation with this sadness of death. Seven or eight years ago, when we lived together, he said that he would use his own hands to support his novel creation. Until two or three years ago, he suddenly changed his mind and said that he hoped his calligraphy could support his novel creation and "cultivate art with art" He said that his calligraphy works could be given away, but he hoped that his novels could be sold and he could continue to publish his literary works for free.
As a friend of Lai Shouhua, I am a little sad to hear him say this. Because he also said that this is the reality of our time. He said that next year, he hopes to publish a book for his novel Bai Qing, which was published in October magazine in 2009.
Of course, I have read novels. October magazine is an authoritative magazine in domestic literary circles, with excellent quality.
This novel is about a more humble rural life than The Humble Man. It is the humble life of this "humble man". It's been seven years since the novel was published, and I almost forgot. Lai Shouhua said that under the current market considerations, it is very likely that no publishing organization is willing to pay, so I think this is an original intention to induce me to launch this crowdfunding.
Not only in our small Quanzhou, but also in the whole country, most people who write books and engage in pure literature are starving to death. Information explosion makes reading fragmented, and some people lose the ability to think independently to some extent. In this impetuous society, can we still calm down and read a book and a good book?
Lai Shouhua said that because calligraphy has a realistic carrier, it is unrepeatable and decorative, and it can survive in this era. But the elegy sung for literature in this era makes people sad. He said that he hopes that he can create modern literary works with traditional calligraphy through hard work. He said that in contemporary literature and art, the most powerful development is undoubtedly new poetry, but few people know it, even more obscure than novels. Since writing a poem can only be sold in 50 yuan, turning it into a work of art with a brush can be sold 100 times. Moreover, this is also a way for literary aesthetics to enter life. Why not? I don't understand the calligraphy culture that has been circulating for thousands of years, but I know that there are his unique thinking and his painstaking management.
So I think there will be people like me who are willing to support his novel career. We can buy books to support the author to continue his creation, because his next novel "Bai Qing" (a newly revised singles) is also planned to be published, and at the same time, his calligraphy works can be tied up for everyone to enjoy and collect. Why not?
Lai Shouhua and I discussed that this high-profile crowdfunding will also be a literary "show", with the aim of promoting literary reading and letting more people pay attention to the current literary market.
