Film format problem
/? artid=52。 Learn about it on show= 1 Xvid is now maintained by two organizations, Nic and Koepi, whose installation file names are different. The former is Xvid_Install.exe, and the latest version of the latter is xvid-14052003-1.exe ... These two versions are slightly different. I'm used to installing the Koepi version first (only one of the two versions), and I'll change to another one when I encounter an Xvid file that can't fit into this version.

3、ffdshow。 To be exact, ffdshow is not a coding format, but a collection of video codes. Ffdshow includes divx 3 ~ 5, Xvid and MS MPEG4V 1 ~ 3 (Microsoft MPEG 4 coding, rarely used in DVDrip production). For beginners, it is a very simple tool set, the size is only about 700k K, so if you think the above installation method is too complicated, simply install this set, as shown in figure 1 With the upgrade of DivX and Xvid, ffdshow will also be upgraded, so it will be upgraded frequently.

Note: here we need to talk about the choice of XVI ID. When you find that your DVDrip with XVI ID code can't play normally, you should consider replacing the XVI ID code. Of course, you have to uninstall the existing one, then log off, and then enter the system to install another one. Usually, the symptom of Xvid code incompatibility is that the screen turns green after opening the file or the time is displayed on the player, but the time code never goes.

Second, audio articles

1, AC3 sound quality. At present, most DVD discs on the market use AC3 5. 1 audio track, and with 5. 1 speaker, it can really create a better home theater effect. The DVD with AC3 sound quality directly copies the original sound track into the DVD during production, so there is no difference in sound effect between this DVD and DVD. However, in order for the player to support AC3 audio tracks, you need to install its audio filter. The latest version is ac3filter 0.68b

2. Vbr in mp3 vbr .rmvb has the same meaning as vb, that is, variable bit rate. Mp3 audio track is obtained by processing AC3 audio track when making DVDrip, and its general size is 1/2 to 1/3 of AC3. This decoding can generally be played without additional installation.

3. Ogg is a music compression format similar to mp3. Some producers think ogg is better than mp3 because of its audio track, but from now on, mp3 is still the mainstream. The decoder of OG code is OggDS0993.exe. Interested friends can visit its website/.

4.DTS audio track. DTS and AC3 also belong to the surround effect of 5. 1 channel and adopt different compression techniques. Therefore, when playing DVDrip with DTS source sound quality, it is necessary to install the corresponding decoder: DTS source decoding filter. And pay attention to the installation and correct registration of WinDVD before the sound (of course, it can also be achieved by registering its ax file, but it is easier to install). Like AC3, DTS audio track is quite cool under the surround effect of 5. 1, but it's a pity that my speaker ... alas.

Note: Some readers may ask, since the sound quality of DVD audio source is AC3 or DTS, why should it be compressed? This involves the production standard of DVDrip. Generally, movies with a length less than 1 10 minutes will be required to be made into 1CD(700M), movies with a length greater than 1 180 minutes will be made into 2CD(2×700M), and so on. Considering the video effect, if a 700M avi is within 70 minutes, the sound quality is the AC3 source. If AC3 is used for more than 70 minutes, the video definition will not meet the requirements, so it is compressed into mp3 or ogg. Of course, this is just a general situation, which varies according to the film category (for example, movies with excellent sound effects are of course reluctant to compress the audio track).

Third, subtitles

Let's talk about the popular subtitle formats, which are divided into graphic format and text format.

Subtitles: It consists of idx and sub files, and sometimes you can see ifo files, but now this is of little use. Idx is equivalent to an index file, which contains the time code of subtitle appearance and subtitle display attributes. The subfile only stores the subtitles themselves. Note that it is a picture format, so it is relatively large, often exceeding 10M. Idx+sub can store subtitles in multiple languages and provide a choice when playing.

Text format subtitles: popular text subtitles include srt, smi, ssa and sub (the same as the graphic format suffix above). Because it is a text format, it is relatively small, generally not exceeding 100 k, among which srt text subtitle is the most popular, because its production specification is simple, one code+one subtitle at a time, and it is quite simple to make and modify. With. Style files, srt can also bring some special effects to fonts. Several text subtitles can be converted to each other. Text subtitles are generally generated by OCR or hand-made graphic subtitles. OCR English subtitles are not difficult. After all, English recognition is difficult, but OCR Chinese is more difficult, and the software used is not small (SubOCR, more than 30 m).

Look at the playback software, in fact, there is a software that can do it, that is, the famous VobSub. VobSub supports various formats mentioned above, and its working principle is that when the player opens the avi file, it loads subtitles (if any) (as well as asf, mpg, etc. ), and then play it with audio and video files. Usually when VobSub works, a small green arrow will be generated on the taskbar, as shown in Figure 2. Right-click this arrow and you can choose from several subtitles you have loaded. The prefix requirements of subtitle files are the same as those of avi files, and the location requirements should be placed in the same directory of avi (the old version does not support Chinese directories), or in "c: subtitles" and "at the same time. Subtitle "defaults to VobSub. Idx+sub, srt, smi and so on. They can all be put together for VobSub to load at the same time, and then you can choose, as shown in Figure 3.

Here are some ways to use VobSub: Start-Programs-VobSub-DirectVobSub Configuration, or double-click the green arrow at work.

, the window as shown in Figure 4 will appear. Several commonly used functions: you can Open the specified subtitle file through open under the main tab. Text setting is for subtitles in text format, and you can set the font and size when displaying subtitles. My habit is to set it to "thick, positive and small", which is more comfortable. The subtitle timing under the timing label can set the subtitle delay in milliseconds. If you think the subtitle 1 sec is fast, you can write 1000, if it is slow, it is-1000, and so on. Under the Path tab, you can set the default to open subtitles with the same file name as avi. The three directories mentioned above are the default of VobSub, and you can also customize them.

In fact, there are many topics about subtitles, such as how to grab graphic subtitles from DVD, how to adjust the color and display position of graphic subtitles, how to set the default language of graphic subtitles, how to split, merge and proofread subtitles and so on. These other tools are used with VobSub: VobSub Configure, VobSub Cutter, VobSub Joiner, SubMux and SubResync. It can be said that VobSub is a very useful tool set for processing subtitles, so I won't elaborate on these functional texts. The latest version of VobSub is 2.25.

Fourth, play with articles

In fact, there are many players that can play DVDrip, because the principle of players is almost the same, which is nothing more than reading the corresponding decoding from the system and applying it to the target file. But I still want to recommend the following small and practical players to play DVDrip, so as to realize the reasonable allocation of resources.

1, Windows Media Player(WMP) 6.4. Don't be surprised, this is definitely the most stable version of the media player, so Microsoft put it in the "Crogram FilesWindows Media Player" of various operating systems from 98 to XP. Needless to say, just open it and play.

2. Zoom in and play. Small and powerful, it can play DVD even if the system has DVD decoding. The interface is as shown in the figure. At first glance, it seems no big deal. You can right-click the picture to know that it is awesome (as shown in Figure 5), hehe. See the language options in it? It has been merged with VobSub. Another useful one is the aspect ratio, which can be used to change the picture scale and change the DVDrip with incorrect picture scale (generally rare). When playing full screen, click the space (which means pause/continue in WMP) to bring up the progress bar, which is simple and convenient to operate.

3. Media Player Classic Edition (MPC). It looks like WMP, but don't underestimate it because its author wrote the above-mentioned VobSub. Needless to say, the function is clear after use. MPC is a portable application, which can be run directly. I'm used to putting it in the WMP directory. The running interface is shown in Figure 6, and its power lies in the functions in the command menu. It is worth mentioning that the functions in view-pan & Scan can translate pictures (whether pictures or windows) up, down, left and right, and also zoom in and out. As long as quicktime and realone are installed in the current system, MPC can play mov and rm formats. Of course, you can also download a separate hack plug-in from/stream-software-play.htm. Although it is not as stable as the original product occasionally, it can avoid the trouble of installation. By the way, in full screen mode, MPC can pop up the progress bar by moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen, instead of returning to normal mode like WMP.

Fifth, skills.

In the process of playing DVDrip, there are often some problems, which are summarized as follows:

1, the picture sound is out of sync. Symptoms usually show that the picture is half a beat slower than the sound or the picture is rice. The solution is generally to change the CPU occupancy of DivX. Take WMP as an example, click File-Properties-Advanced, find the setting item of DivX, and adjust the CPU (quality) to the lowest (as shown in Figure 7). For Xvid avi, you can try to reduce the refresh rate/resolution of the monitor.

This picture is upside down. This problem is mostly due to the confusion of DivX coding, but the solution is also very simple. Right-click the green arrow of VobSub and select Flip Picture in Figure 3.

3. Play without pictures/sounds/subtitles. Through the above introduction, I think this kind of problem should not appear, hehe. But anything is possible. I have encountered bad DVDrip files, but I just can't play them. Generally, you can use AVIcodec to check avi and see what kind of audio and video format it is. Another way is to use avi to open nfo files (just use notepad), and generally record relevant information. Sometimes I encounter bad subtitle files (I have also encountered them). You can try to open the subtitle file mentioned above. If it can be opened normally, it means no problem. If not, change it.

4. Recently, the author found that when playing DVDrip on a low-profile machine, whether VobSub is enabled or not has a great influence on the picture quality. It was first discovered on an MTV. Because there are no subtitles, VobSub is not enabled when playing, and the picture color is dry and the transition is stiff. It was much better when VobSub was enabled. It seems that VobSub still has this function. The way to start VobSub with the player is: under the General tab in Figure 4, just select Always Load from Loading.

5. What should I do if I encounter a movie in SVCD format? Usually this format is bin+cue file, so you need to install a virtual CD-ROM drive such as Daemon to load cue, and then it becomes a virtual CD-ROM drive. Then install WMP to patch Elecard MPEG video decoding filter SVCD, and use WMP to open mpg file in virtual cd drive. The method of loading subtitles is also very simple. After setting VobSub to start with the player, click Open to open the target subtitle.

6. The subtitle file is too large. How to collect through lettering? Subfiles can be compressed into rar. Note that only the subfiles are compressed, and the idx file is not compressed. Generally, the compression ratio is very high, so avi+idx+rar can be played as long as the file names are the same after processing. If it is still larger than the size of the CD after compression, the super burning of the burner is enabled, which was introduced in the previous Home Computer.
