First round: Only all teams in the first division participated in the competition.
The second round (32-entry 16): The competition will be attended by all the Super League, China A (the participating clubs that passed the first round), China B and China Crown clubs that meet the requirements of the Football Association. They will draw lots against the Chinese Super League team, and compete for 16 places in a single round of elimination to advance to the next round.
Third round (eighth final): The 16 teams that advanced in the second round went through a single round of elimination, and the winning eight teams advanced to the next round.
Fourth round (quarter-final): The eight teams that advanced in the third round will play two rounds of elimination, and the four teams that won will advance to the next round.
The fifth round (semi-final): The four teams that advanced in the fourth round will be eliminated in a single round, and the two winning teams will advance to the next round.
Sixth round (final): The two teams that advanced to the semi-finals in the fifth round will have a round of decisive competition, and the winner will be the champion.
In the single-round knockout, if the total number of goals scored by the two teams is the same after 90 minutes, the winner of the game will be decided by direct penalty. In two rounds of knockout, the principle of winning away goals is not applicable. After two rounds 180 minutes, if the total number of goals scored by the two teams is the same, the winner will be decided by penalty.
