Recently, Japan began to try to apply for a passport by mail, mainly to reduce the risk of infection. If you want to apply for a passport, you can refer to the following methods. The materials you need to prepare must be complete, otherwise you may not be able to apply.

In order to ease the difficulties for Japanese citizens to apply for passports in China and reduce the risk of epidemic infection, our library has continued to implement window service and added passport mailing service since February 1 day. Applicants can make an appointment at the window or by mail. China citizens aged 16 and above who live in the consular district of our library (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, _ Yuki, Nagano, Yamanashi, Shizuoka, Gunma, Tochigi and Ibaraki) can choose to apply for passports by mail (those whose original passports are lost or damaged cannot mail them). The passport applied by mail does not contain the fingerprint information of the applicant, so it is impossible to pass through the customs at the border inspection and entry, and it needs manual passage.

I. Handling process

(1) Make an appointment online. Please log in to the online booking system for overseas passport application (), fill in your personal data online, upload photos, enter the "Face-free" booking interface, make an appointment, download and print the barcode passport/travel permit application form, mail processing application form and other form attachments.

And sign the applicant's signature in block letters and simplified Chinese.

(2) Prepare materials

1. Please prepare the required materials according to the list of materials listed in the application for mailing certificate. Please copy on A4 paper.

2. Please sign the signature claim form as required;

Please note: the signature here will be scanned and made on the new passport, and it may be compared with my actual signature when I apply for entry and exit, foreign visa and other matters in the future. Please sign your name in block letters and simplified Chinese characters, and don't sign it on your behalf. You are responsible for the problems caused by the signing.

3. Please read the informed consent form for not taking fingerprints carefully and sign it;

4. Please read the declaration of nationality status carefully and sign it;

5. Please prepare 2 photos (photo requirements: white background, dark clothes, clear facial features, visible ears, no hat, size 48mm×33mm), paste 1 photo in the photo pasting place of the passport/travel permit application form, and put the remaining 1 photo in a small bag and put it in the mailing envelope of the application materials.

(3) Mailing materials

Applicants are requested to mail through the Japan Post window according to the appointment time, and the mailing expenses shall be borne by the applicants. Each application must be mailed separately. Please don't choose your own delivery method, because it involves the safety of mailing and returning documents. The specific operation steps are as follows:

1. Go to the Japan Post window to buy two A4 envelopes and get a 1 voucher. One envelope is used to mail your application materials to our library, and the other envelope is used as a reply envelope. Our library will send you a new passport, a cancelled old passport and a payment receipt.

2. To mail the application materials to our library, please fill in the postal code "14 1-8772" in the upper right corner of the envelope and "Otsuka _ toilet leave" in the right side of the envelope.
