A little jade knowledge every day - Jade
Authoritative appraisal institutions: There are many nationally recognized jade appraisal institutions, and appraisal certificates also come in many styles, generally with the following marks: CMA, CAL and CNAS/CNAL, any of the following three flags are valid.
Among domestic jade appraisal institutions, only these three categories are authoritative. There are also many well-known appraisal institutions in the world, such as the Central Gemological Research Institute of Japan and the Gübelin Gemological Laboratory of Switzerland. The appraisal results of these institutions are also very trustworthy.
Information on the front of the certificate: The identification result, natural jadeite, will be marked "A" or "natural". Fake jadeite will be marked with treatment, glue injection, dyeing, optimization or "B goods", and the remark will also include the basis for identification or the method of counterfeiting. Test content: The test contents of different institutions are slightly different, but the test information given will be very detailed.
Number: You can enter the number on the website of the organization that issued the certificate to query the tested jadeite.
Signature: Generally, signatures are handwritten and have two signatures: the examiner and the reviewer.
QR code: Scan the QR code and the result page of the jade test will appear directly. If you scan it to the homepage of the web page, it is a false certificate.
Identification method:
① Check whether there are "CMA", "CAL" or "CANS" marks on the certificate.
② Check whether there is a steel seal or anti-counterfeiting mark on the certificate.
③ Check whether there is a contact number and website of the identification unit on the certificate. You can call to check the identification results or enter the certificate number on the website to check.
④Scan the QR code on the certificate to see if the result of the jade test appears directly.
Scam: In addition to checking the authenticity of the appraisal certificate, we must also prevent the jadeite from being "switched". Some people will use the certificate of natural jadeite and match it with a very similar B-grade jadeite. This type of scam is common in jade bracelets or ring faces, because the appearance of the bracelet and the ring face are similar. If you do not distinguish carefully, it is easy to mistakenly think that the actual jadeite and the certificate photo are the same jadeite. If you find jade, there is a big difference in quality and certificate data, you must be vigilant to prevent such scams.
