Project research report
Changzhou No.4 Middle School Audio-visual Education Research Group
First of all, the questions raised
Rodin once said: "Beauty is everywhere. For our eyes, it is not the lack of beauty, but the lack of discovery. " Beauty is life. Beauty is a rich, unique and pleasant concrete image that objectively exists in life, and it is the harmonious and unified content of truth, goodness and beauty. An important task of school education is to cultivate and develop students' aesthetic ability, improve students' aesthetic taste, and urge students to consciously shape themselves according to the requirements of beauty, so as to overcome and eliminate the false ugliness in life and create and enhance the truth, goodness and beauty in life.
Everyone has a love of beauty. Cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability is an indispensable content to improve students' quality in an all-round way and promote the transformation from exam-oriented education to quality education. However, the traditional educational methods have serious shortcomings in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability: first, the content is boring and can't stimulate students' interest; Second, the form is single, and it is often dominated by words and pictures, which is difficult to arouse students' emotions, resulting in poor ability of young students to perceive, identify and appreciate beauty. It is not uncommon for students to distinguish beauty from ugliness.
With the continuous development of science and technology and the promotion of educational modernization project, modern educational technology is rapidly popularized, which provides great convenience for us to cultivate and develop students' aesthetic ability by using audio-visual media. The research purpose of this topic is to try to use audio-visual media to help students perceive beauty, distinguish beauty and appreciate beauty through colorful activities, guide students to actively pursue truth, goodness and beauty, continuously improve aesthetic taste, develop aesthetic ability and promote the all-round improvement of students' quality.
This project was established at the end of 1998, and the research plan has been submitted to the municipal and provincial education departments for approval. The idea at that time was to study the beauty of literature, art, science, society and nature, and the members of the research group involved various disciplines. 1May, 1999, the Provincial Audio-visual Education Center issued the Notice on the Approval Opinions of the Third Batch of Experimental Schools, requiring our school to "specify the experimental disciplines in the independent variables, and suggest 1-2". According to the instructions of the Provincial Audio-visual Education Center, the research group revised the experimental scheme according to the actual situation of the school, clearly taking Chinese as the main experimental subject, and adjusted the members of the research group, removing the members of the original sound, sports and beauty subjects and increasing the members of the Chinese subject. 1in the second half of 999, this project was officially approved as an audio-visual experimental project of provincial groups.
Second, research content and research methods
(A) Research content
(1) What are the shortcomings of conventional media in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability?
⑵ What are the advantages of audio-visual media in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability? The research group will conduct in-depth analysis from content to form, from method to effect.
⑶ What elements does aesthetic ability include? How to cultivate and develop students' aesthetic ability by using audio-visual media?
research method
1. Literature research: use the library, reference room and Internet to find relevant research literature, find out what the latest research achievements of predecessors are on this subject, accumulate relevant research materials, and grasp the research trends at home and abroad.
2. Investigation and study: Through investigation and observation, we can understand the present situation of students' aesthetic knowledge and ability, and further clarify the focus and direction of research.
3. Experimental research: Taking Chinese classroom teaching activities as the main position, at the same time, by holding extracurricular reading appreciation activities, holding theme class meetings, organizing debate contests, visiting the infiltration environment, etc., teachers and students are mobilized to participate extensively, give full play to their subjective initiative and creativity, and continuously improve students' aesthetic ability.
Third, the implementation of learning
In order to improve the theoretical literacy and scientific research ability of research members, we have determined the study plan of the research group, requiring each member to study a theoretical monograph every semester and make reading notes; We arranged for the members of the research group to participate in the observation activities of modern educational technology training organized by provincial and municipal audio-visual centers in time.
In the past three years, we have conducted in-depth research and beneficial discussion on this topic in classroom teaching and extracurricular activities. Audio-visual education research classes are held every semester, and sometimes audio-visual education observation classes are held for the whole region.
In order to ensure the effectiveness of each research class, after discussion, the research group gradually formed the Operating Rules of Audio-visual Education Research Class, which defined the contents of pre-class design and after-class reflection:
(1) Thinking before class: 1. What media is suitable for this course? Why did you choose this media? 2. When are you going to use the media? Why did you choose to use it at this time? 3. What do you hope to achieve through the use of media? What kind of abilities can students develop at the same time? 4. What method are you going to use to test the effect? 5. What information do you want to collect after this class?
(2) Analysis after class: 1. Is the media you choose appropriate? Is there a better choice? 2. Is the timing of media use appropriate? Is there a better time? 3. Has the teaching purpose of this course been achieved? Have you developed your expected students' abilities? Why? 4. Is the detection method you used effective? What needs to be improved? 5. In what ways can the information you collected prove this theme? 6. What contribution (including experience and lessons) has this research course made to the research of the subject?
The members of the research group must carefully design the teaching in the audio-visual experimental class according to the operating rules, so that the future research class will not deviate from the research direction and lay a solid foundation for maximizing the experimental results.
In addition, many useful attempts have been made in holding literary works appreciation, organizing debate competitions and holding theme class meetings, and good results have been achieved.
Fourth, research results.
In the past three years' research and practice, we gradually realize that aesthetic ability includes the ability to awaken aesthetic consciousness, form aesthetic situation, distinguish beauty and enrich aesthetic mind to create beauty. These four abilities involve four levels: experience, understanding, judgment and sublimation of beauty. In the implementation of each research class, we should focus on each other, or perceive beauty, or appreciate beauty, or identify with beauty, or create beauty, or integrate with each other. To this end, we have conducted in-depth research and active exploration by using audio-visual media, Chinese classes and various related activities. Practice has proved that the application of audio-visual media plays a very positive role in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability.
(A) the use of audio-visual media to awaken aesthetic awareness and improve the perception of beauty.
Aesthetic education should give students a rich sense of beauty. Chinese textbooks are rich in aesthetic education resources, but for middle school students with little experience, it is sometimes difficult for them to truly appreciate this beauty with traditional teaching methods. Using audio-visual teaching means, appealing text content to visual pictures, coupled with music and expressive reading, can awaken students' aesthetic consciousness and improve their perception of beauty.
When teaching Bing Xin's essay Little Orange Lamp, it is difficult for students to understand why the author regards the little orange lamp as the embodiment of a little girl. After Bing Xin's death, it happened that CCTV broadcasted a group of TV sketches adapted from Bing Xin's works, including "Little Orange Lantern". The research group immediately arranged for the students in the experimental class to hold an appreciation activity of Bing Xin's prose. When students review this article through multimedia, their sleeping aesthetic consciousness is immediately activated. They not only deeply grasped the connotation of the works, but also truly realized the beauty of rhyme, scenery and emotion in Bing Xin's prose. A student wrote it? Quot I can't believe the image of' Little Orange Lamp' in the picture is so vivid and beautiful. Against the gloomy and dark background, the dim orange-red light of the small orange lamp is the embodiment of a calm, brave and optimistic little girl and the brightest spark in her heart. People see the light and are encouraged. "Without the intervention of audio-visual media and the organic integration of various media, it is hard to imagine that students will have such a profound understanding.
A teacher of the research group edited two groups of media materials when teaching the article Listening to Tide, namely Sleeping in the Sea and Waking up in the Sea, and matched them with corresponding music, which made students feel the beauty and magnificence of the sea through watching, listening and thinking, and achieved good results.
(B) the use of audio-visual media to create aesthetic situations, improve aesthetic ability.
The greatest advantage of audio-visual media in education is that it can integrate sound, literature and painting, create an aesthetic situation with intuitive and vivid images, vivid and refined language and highly infectious music, so that students are deeply attracted and moved, receive the influence of beauty in a subtle way and improve their aesthetic ability.
On the eve of "March 8th" International Women's Day, we carefully planned a class meeting with the theme of "Singing for Mother". The whole activity took three "MTV" as the main line: a song "Mother by Candlelight" kicked off the theme class meeting. With the beautiful melody, the mother on the screen was "too tired to stand up straight and her eyes were blind", which suddenly attracted the attention of the students and created a good educational situation. With the music of "Only Mothers are Good in the World" playing softly, the screen shows the affectionate image of mother and child, the students' emotions are infected, and their associations are stimulated, and they all come on stage to tell the touching stories of their mothers: after some students lost their father's love, the mother took pains to shoulder the burden of raising her son alone; Some students' stepmothers care about their daughters in every way, and their stepmothers are better than their biological mothers. At the theme class meeting, the students also used a variety of cultural programs-chorus, sketch, music poetry reading and so on. In order to repay my mother's kindness, I prepared a small gift. They personally put beautiful hairpins and unique brooches on their mothers, presented elaborate holiday cards, and signed a piece of pink cloth with the words "Reward Great Mothers with Excellent Achievements" to express their ambition of serving and loving their mothers.
At the end of the activity, along with the familiar melody of "Know You", the students sang their hearts with the actors while enjoying the moving pictures: "I want to be close to you and tell you that I have always understood you." Finally, the following subtitles were printed on the screen: "Motherly love is the greatest emotion of human beings, and mothers are kind and great. Motherly love is gentle, deep and unforgettable. Let us dedicate our songs and deep love to our mother, to our alma mater, hometown and motherland, because they all have the same name-mother. " The baritone's affectionate recitation sublimated the feelings of the students and deepened the theme of the class meeting.
After the class meeting, the students wrote down their feelings in their diaries? Quot This is the most unforgettable theme class meeting I have ever attended. It is novel, vivid and intuitive, which deeply touched me. In the past few days, my heart is full of passion to study hard, repay my mother and serve my country. ""I will always remember my mother's kindness and make her smile forever with excellent grades. "
(C) the use of audio-visual media to mobilize aesthetic experience, improve the ability to identify beauty
People's aesthetic ability is based on aesthetic experience, and rich aesthetic experience can enhance the effect of aesthetic education. When the aesthetic subject actively mobilizes his past aesthetic experience, his feeling of beauty will be more real and his understanding of beauty will be deeper. Audio-visual media plays an important role in helping students transcend old aesthetic experience and improve their ability to distinguish beauty.
For a time, several suicides of primary and middle school students reported by the media caused great repercussions among some students, especially some poor students, who also showed negative and world-weary thoughts. How to help students cherish life and face difficulties and setbacks bravely has become a topic of concern to our educators.
Soon, CCTV's "Tell the Truth" program tells the story of 16-year-old Beijing female middle school student Zhang who is terminally ill, studies hard and laughs off bad luck. The research group immediately seized this rare educational opportunity and held the theme activity of "Cherish life and feel strong". First, I took a picture of my hair falling off on the big screen, still loving life and smiling brightly. Then I listened to the affectionate memories of Zhang by famous program hosts Bai, Jing Yidan and Cui Yongyuan. The students were deeply moved by this real and touching story at once. A junior two student said emotionally: "I have an indescribable feeling in my heart when I face such a sister who is not much older than us but much stronger than us." 16 years old, should have enjoyed the care of teachers and parents and the friendship between classmates at school and home, but Zhang can only turn pale, which is the coldest color of 16 years old. In the picture, Zhang, who is talking and laughing with his classmates, laughs so naively, so thoroughly and without reservation. It is hard for us to believe that this is really a cancer patient. Seeing this big sister laughing so happily, we seem to want to laugh, but more want to cry. Tears are not only for Mu Ran's illness, but also for our weakness and weather resistance: failing the exam, there is nothing but tears; I cut my hand, but I cried and cried. Being criticized by the teacher, I can't bear it, except tears. As for Mu Ran, death is approaching her step by step. She can't study and play as happily as we do at school, but she always smiles and is full of hope for life. We felt ashamed in front of her. Although she has left us, the thoughts she left us are eternal. In the journey of life, we will encounter many difficulties. We should face setbacks like Mu Ran, work hard, love life, go forward bravely and make life more meaningful? Quot Those students who have negative world-weary thoughts have also improved their understanding through comparison and identification, saying that they should love life as much as Zhang, so that every day of life can radiate its due light and heat.
The members of the research group also use the debate, a form that students love, to help students clarify right and wrong, distinguish beauty from ugliness and improve their ability to distinguish beauty.
(D) Use audio-visual media to enrich the aesthetic mind and improve the ability to create beauty.
An important task of aesthetic education is to cultivate people's rich and diverse aesthetic hearts. Audio-visual media, with its unique advantages, can help students get a lot of exquisite information in a limited time. The application of audio-visual media can enrich students' aesthetic mind and improve their creative ability in the constant edification of beautiful images.
Teach the text "Premier Zhou, where are you?" The teacher realized that the students were not familiar with Premier Zhou's life story, and it was difficult to understand people's feelings towards Premier Zhou at that time, so he carefully made a multimedia courseware, which vividly reproduced Premier Zhou's great life and the touching scene of the people in the capital standing in the biting cold wind crying for Premier Zhou, which immediately aroused students' strong feelings. After analysis, with "embroidered gold plaque"? Quot People's Good Premier Zhou's Three Embroideries ... "Music appeared on the big screen in the background of the rising sun, and the picture of Premier Zhou coming to us with a smile immediately aroused the students' emotions, and the theme of Premier Zhou being with the people forever was also deeply reflected. At this time, the teacher arranged the homework in time, and asked the students to choose a paragraph from the poem, expand their reasonable imagination, describe the picture in vivid and realistic language, and show their ability to create beauty. Inspired by the audio-visual media, the students accurately grasped the artistic conception of poetry and were shocked and impressed by Premier Zhou's great personality. Therefore, they are very devoted to writing. The composition written is not only sincere in feelings, but also beautiful in writing, and has received good results.
Audio-visual education media plays a unique role in cultivating and developing students' ability to perceive beauty, appreciate beauty, identify beauty and create beauty. But the key to the effectiveness of media education lies in how teachers use it. Only according to the teaching materials and students' reality, carefully selecting media, presenting media in time, skillfully designing teaching and activities around the theme, and stimulating students' active participation can have a positive impact on cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability.
More than three years of research has achieved fruitful results, and more than ten research papers have been published in our school and won prizes: Gao's "Cultivating and Developing Students' Aesthetic Ability by Using Audio-visual Education Media" was published in the fourth issue of this year in Beijing's "Audio-visual Education Information" monthly magazine; Feeling strongly and cherishing life was published in Changzhou Education News Hope Edition; Chen Huiyong's "Let Multimedia Enter Theme Class Meeting" was published in Changzhou Education News, and won the third prize in the paper appraisal of the annual meeting of the city class teacher. Gao and Chen Huiyong's "Practice and Thinking of Introducing Modern Educational Media into Theme Class Meetings" won the first prize in Changzhou Audio-visual Education Paper Appraisal and the third prize in the province; Chen Huiyong's "Embodiment of Aesthetic Education in Chinese Teaching" won the second prize in the paper evaluation of provincial young teachers; Guiping's "Using Audio-visual Media to Help Students Establish Aesthetic Psychological Structure" and Dai's "Using Audio-visual Media to Cultivate Students' Judicial Ability in Political Courses" won the third prize in the evaluation of audio-visual papers in the city.
The multimedia courseware "Premier Zhou, where are you" and "Composition Training-Writing Short Comments" edited by Gao won the second prize and the third prize of the municipal multimedia courseware evaluation; Fang Zhanglu and He, members of the research group, won the third prize of multimedia evaluation in the city; Lu Zhiping's school homepage won the third prize of the first campus webpage production. In addition, the research group has also produced and accumulated a number of valuable audio-visual materials, such as Essays on Home TV, Essays on Bing Xin's TV, and scientific and educational videos or CDs such as Genes and Cloning and Nanotechnology.
The research group Gao and Dai won the titles of excellent audio-visual educators in provinces and cities respectively, and the school was also rated as an advanced unit of audio-visual education in Changzhou.
Problems and Thinking of verb (abbreviation of verb)
Undoubtedly, the use of audio-visual media in Chinese teaching will have a positive impact on cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability. But will the involvement of audio-visual media hinder or even replace the process of students' self-perception and independent experience of the beauty of text content and form? How to optimize and integrate modern educational media resources to meet the requirements of new curriculum standards, so that students can improve and develop their aesthetic ability in the process of active exploration and independent learning? These problems need further experiments and exploration.
2. Aesthetic ability is an abstract concept after all, and the improvement of aesthetic ability cannot be achieved overnight. In the actual research process, it seems difficult to find a quantifiable index to detect whether the aesthetic ability is improved. After repeated discussions, the proposed quantitative detection index was finally abandoned because it was not mature. The research and discussion in this area need to be continued and deepened.
