In the last summer vacation before graduating from college, I chose to work in Jiangmen Heshan Jianhao Lighting Enterprise Co., Ltd. for more than thirty days during the holiday. It is understood that the company is a Taiwan-funded enterprise that mainly produces Christmas lights and automotive light bulbs. Its products are mainly sold to Europe, the United Kingdom and other places. The purpose of this trip to Jiangmen is to experience factory life, get in touch with and try to adapt to society in advance, and exercise to adapt to the working environment in the future.
On July 23, I was officially assigned as a summer worker to the proofing class of the proofing team of the factory’s R&D department. The so-called proofing is based on the customer's drawings and ideas, making samples before making large quantities of goods. Generally, large quantities of orders are produced only after the samples are confirmed. Therefore, the work of this department is relatively important, and the quality of products is related to the company's reputation. Our working hours are extremely tight, 08:00-12:00, 13:00-17:30, 18:30--(overtime). Later, I learned that there were students from other universities in the province in the same department as me. Of course, there were more employees from primary schools, junior high schools, high schools, technical secondary schools and junior colleges. However, when it comes down to it, we college students seem clumsy when doing these tasks that require time and effort, and are not even as good as girls who have not graduated from junior high school. I'm so ashamed. I used to say that college students had high scores and low abilities, but now I have to say that poor practical ability is a common problem among college students.
Perhaps life and work have something in common: they are both repetitive. Rest, rest, rest, work, work, work. When we arrived at the factory, the manager warned us that this was not a school. Safety came first, and we must abide by factory rules and regulations. I am busy with the same boring thing every day, and my ears are always ringing with the reproaches of the team leader and even the department manager: talk less, do more; seize the time, be super fast, have super quality, etc. In fact, these are all logical. As long as they have a responsible heart, employees can do their jobs well. At the beginning, we all felt that this would be overkill. With such doubts, I go to work reluctantly. Naturally, my work efficiency is relatively low. After some words from the team leader, I finally realized that doing good deeds is the real purpose. It does not mean that you can just deal with it casually. Work is not a joke, you must do your best!
My ability to adapt is also testing me.
The first thing is accommodation. I have to face the changed environment and the various people I live with day and night. Try to be nice to others, try to keep the dormitory clean, etc. In the near future, I will enter society and face complicated people and things, and I must learn how to face and deal with them. It was during this practice that my ability to adapt was exercised. The most basic courtesy is to say hello and say hello to your colleagues and boss when you see them. All of these things are easy to say but not easy to achieve!
The second is the issue of mentality. Changing roles from students to employees takes time, but it should not take too much time. The pace of society is getting faster and faster, which requires us to change our feelings as soon as possible, change our identity, and have a positive attitude, so that our work can be effective.
I benefited a lot from the conversation between the team leader and me. He said that when you go out into society, no matter how high or low your education level is, employers will look at you in three aspects: team spirit and personal ability. and attitude. Listening to your words is worth ten years of reading!
I have also doubted my personal ability. When I think about the employment prospects of this major, what kind of job can I do after graduation? I suddenly felt cold sweat on my back! Besides professional skills, what else do I have? Been thinking about it. As college students, what are our advantages? Educational qualifications, cultural accomplishment, and professional skills. Also, I think the most important thing is something called quality that even I can’t explain clearly. When I was in the workshop, someone whispered to me that you college students have a characteristic, that is, you speak softly...
Some people also saw that college students just don’t wait in line for meals. Cutting in line and not speaking loudly during gatherings. These are probably personal cultivation. These are small things, very common, but how many people actually do it when it comes to implementation? I think I can.
What does success depend on? detail! What are the details? That’s what I just said! There are many details in the work. For example, a water pipe must be added during welding. What if you forget it? What would that be? The waste includes human, material and financial resources. If everyone forgets to add one, they will suffer heavy losses, let alone building a harmonious and economical socialist society, because this itself is contrary to the purpose of the enterprise, and the enterprise cannot pay attention to the details. Okay, what about development? I have returned to my major, which is to save energy, save water, recycle, etc. as much as possible. For example, the power often goes out during working hours. Saving electricity can be important.
I challenged myself and finally succeeded. I am quite satisfied with my performance. Some people leave on the same day due to various reasons such as food, and some can no longer work after a few days of work. It’s no wonder that some people comment that our college students have low work efficiency and high demands on factories. Indeed, we all have our own ideas. We don’t work as dedicatedly as middle school and high school students, but to experience life. Most people do things slowly, which makes the manager angry. Finally, we do ideological work. Sure enough, As expected, the manager is good, our efficiency has improved, and the food we eat does not have so much chili. At this point, I understand that if you have requests and have your own ideas, you can put them forward at the appropriate time; work is always the first priority, and a correct attitude is the key.
Another gain is that this is a place of work. Everyone will work hard to get more rewards. Whether it is studying or working, there is competition. In the competition, we must continue to learn from others’ advanced skills. We should continue to learn how others behave in order to improve our own abilities! The reality of more work and more gain makes everyone work as fast as possible. Whenever I see the nervous figures of people around me weaving lighting nets, I can no longer be so slow, and I inadvertently form a knot. kind of competition.
Furthermore, I gave up the opportunity to intern at the Environmental Protection Bureau with my classmates to experience life in the factory, and I have no regrets at all. There are still opportunities for internships. This is the only chance to experience life. I can meet all kinds of people, see all kinds of things, and learn things that I heard in the past. There are always two sides to everything. Their internships can well strengthen and consolidate professional knowledge and have clear goals and directions. However, they lack real experience. There will be relatively few opportunities to experience hardship and hard work, and there will be fewer opportunities to test their will. . When I wrote the above words, I felt a surge of gratitude in my heart. I would like to thank those enthusiastic and cheerful co-workers who gave me a lot of help. I would also like to thank the foremen. Even though they scolded me, they mostly talked with me. Come to persuade and thank them.
I believe that this social practice will not only bring me the above, I am sure!
