Procedures for applying for visa extension:
1. Submit a valid passport;

(a) to apply for the extension of the "F" visa and submit an official letter from the reception unit;

1. Applicants for foreigners who need to stay in China for non-diplomatic or official reasons may apply to the exit-entry administration of public security organs for extension, renewal and replacement of visas, issuance, renewal and replacement of residence certificates, and issuance, extension, renewal and replacement of residence certificates.
2. Applicants for foreigners shall apply for visas to the exit-entry administration agencies of public security organs at or above the county level entrusted by the Ministry of Public Security.
Three. Application Method Foreigners who apply for the extension, renewal, replacement and residence certificate of visas and residence certificates shall go through the relevant formalities at the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ by themselves. In any of the following circumstances, an application may be made by the inviting unit or individual, the applicant's relatives and relevant specialized service agencies:
(a) under the age of 65-438+06 or over the age of 60 due to illness and other reasons;
(2) Not entering China for the first time and having a good record of staying in China;
(3) Inviting units or individuals to provide safeguard measures for the expenses required by foreigners during their stay in China.
Foreigners applying for residence certificates shall go through the relevant formalities at the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ. High-level talents needed by the country, urgently needed specialized talents and personnel under the circumstances listed in the first paragraph of the preceding paragraph may apply by the inviting unit or individual, the relatives of the applicant and relevant specialized service institutions.
4. Units that invite and receive foreigners for filing may apply to the entry-exit administration of the local public security organ for filing.
Verb (abbreviation of verb) application procedure Foreigners applying for visa documents shall accept relevant inquiries from the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ. If the exit-entry administration of the public security organ needs to verify the relevant information from the inviting unit (individual), the relevant unit (individual) shall cooperate. If the applicant or the relevant unit or individual fails to be interviewed within the agreed time as notified by the exit-entry administration of the public security organ without justifiable reasons, the exit-entry administration of the public security organ may refuse to issue a visa certificate according to law.
Foreigners applying for visa documents shall submit their valid passports or other international travel documents, fill in the application form for visa documents for foreigners, submit photos that meet the prescribed requirements, and submit supporting materials related to the application.
The entry-exit administrative organ of the public security organ shall accept and issue an acceptance receipt for an application for a visa certificate that meets the acceptance conditions after examination, and make a decision on whether to issue it within the validity period of the acceptance receipt. The validity of the receipt for visa and stay permit application acceptance shall not exceed 7 working days from the date of acceptance; The validity period of the receipt of residence certificate application acceptance shall not exceed 15 working days from the date of acceptance.
If the passport or other international travel documents held by the applicant are retained, they can legally reside in China with the receipt of acceptance; If there are justified reasons, you can apply to the exit-entry administration of the public security organ for temporary retrieval of passports or other international travel documents, but you should return them within the validity period of the acceptance receipt, so as not to affect the issuance of corresponding visa documents by the exit-entry administration of the public security organ.
Seven. Documents required to apply for visa extension When applying for extension of visa stay, foreigners shall apply to the exit-entry administration of the public security organ seven days before the expiration of the stay period indicated in the visa, and submit relevant application documents as required:
(1) Holders of C-shaped visas must submit a letter of proof issued by the competent department of the people's government at or above the county level or local transportation companies such as civil aviation, railways, highways and ports. You can extend your stay for up to 30 days.
(2) The F visa holder shall submit the certificate issued by the inviting and accepting unit. Unregistered units should also submit registration certificates. You can extend your stay for no more than 180 days.
(3) Holders of G-shaped visas must submit a letter of confirmation from the reception unit and a plane (car, boat) ticket to the country (region) with a fixed date and seat. You can extend your stay for up to 30 days.
(4) A certificate issued by the foreign affairs department of the provincial people's government shall be submitted if a J2 visa is held. You can extend your stay for up to 30 days.
(5) The holder of the L-shaped visa shall submit the travel plan and itinerary, and the travel agency certification letter shall also be submitted for group travel. You can extend your stay for up to 30 days.
(6) The holder of the M-shaped visa shall submit the letter of proof issued by the local inviting reception unit or individual, and the unit that has not filed shall also submit the filing certificate. If the partner is an individual, the letter issued shall be signed and submitted with the local permanent residence certificate or the residence certificate of the actual residence. You can extend your stay for no more than 180 days.
(7) The Q2 visa holder shall submit the letter, identity certificate and family member relationship certificate issued by the interviewee. You can extend your stay for no more than 180 days.
(8) For holders of R-shaped visas, the invitation letter and the certificate of the reception unit shall be submitted, and the unit that has not filed shall also submit the certificate of filing. You can extend your stay for no more than 180 days.
(9) Holders of S2 visas shall submit official letters, residence certificates of foreigners and certificates of family members issued by relatives and friends. Other personnel who handle private affairs or for humanitarian reasons shall submit relevant certificates. For visiting relatives, the stay period can be extended to no more than 180 days, and for other people, the stay period can be extended to no more than 90 days.
(X) X2 visa holders shall submit the study certificate issued by China education and training institutions. You can extend your stay for no more than 180 days.
The extension of the visa stay period shall not exceed the original stay period indicated in the visa.
8. Certification materials required to apply for visa renewal (1) After entering the country with a new passport or group visa, foreigners who need to change their reasons for staying, facilitate entry or stay in a group for objective reasons shall submit the following certification materials:
1. To apply for the renewal of F-shaped visa, you should submit a letter of proof issued by the inviting unit, and you can renew a zero-time, one-time, two-time or multiple-time visa with the entry validity not exceeding 1 year and the stay not exceeding 180 days. For those who meet the requirements of the state for foreign high-level talents and investors, multiple visas with entry validity not exceeding 5 years and stay period not exceeding 180 days can be renewed.
2. To apply for the renewal of J2 visa, a certificate issued by the foreign affairs department of the provincial people's government shall be submitted. You can renew your zero visa for a stay of no more than 30 days.
3. To apply for the renewal of the M-shaped visa, a letter of proof issued by the inviting unit shall be submitted, and a zero-time, one-time, two-time or multiple-time visa with entry validity not exceeding 1 year and stay not exceeding 180 days may be renewed.
4. To apply for the renewal of Q2 visa, the letter, identity certificate and family member relationship certificate issued by the interviewee shall be submitted. You can renew a zero-time, one-time, two-time or multiple-time visa with the entry validity not exceeding 1 year and the stay not exceeding 180 days.
5. To apply for the renewal of the R visa, the applicant shall submit the certification materials that meet the conditions and requirements for introducing foreign high-level talents and urgently needed talents determined by the competent department of China government, as well as the certification letter issued by the inviting and receiving unit. You can renew a zero-time, one-time, two-time, or multiple-time visa with an entry validity of no more than 5 years and a stay of no more than 180 days.
6. When applying for renewal of S2 visa, visiting relatives shall submit the letter issued by the interviewee, the foreigner's residence certificate and the family member's relationship certificate. Other personnel shall submit relevant certification materials with humanitarian reasons. You can renew a zero-time or one-time visa with an entry validity of no more than 3 months and a stay of no more than 180 days.
7. To apply for the extension of X2 visa, a letter issued by an education and training institution in China and a certificate of admission and admission shall be submitted. You can renew a zero-time, one-time or two-time visa with the entry validity not exceeding 1 year and the stay not exceeding 180 days.
(2) If a foreigner issues a new passport because his passport is about to expire or his visa page is used up, he shall submit the passport he held at the time of entry or the relevant certificates issued by his country or embassies and consulates in China that he has withdrawn his passport at the time of entry, and may issue a new visa consistent with the visa type, entry validity period, stay period and remaining valid entry times of the original visa.
(3) If a foreigner adds an escort after entering the country, he shall submit the passport he held at the time of entry and the birth certificate of the escort. A visa may be renewed with reference to the foregoing provisions of this article.
(4) If a foreigner applies for staying with a group visa, he shall submit a letter of proof from the reception travel agency and other materials. Reference can be made to the foregoing provisions of this article.
The duration of visa renewal shall not exceed 1 year from the date of this entry.
9. Proof materials required for applying for a replacement visa If a foreigner applies for a replacement visa after his or her visa is lost, damaged or stolen, he or she shall submit the following proof materials:
(1) If the visa is lost or stolen, the applicant shall submit a certificate of loss of passport or a note from the embassy or consulate of the host country in China, and a new valid passport or other international travel documents.
(2) If the visa is damaged, the damaged passport or a note from the host country embassies and consulates in China and a new valid passport or other international travel documents shall be presented.
(3) If the group visa is lost, stolen or damaged, a letter of proof from the local reception travel agency and a copy of the group visa shall be submitted.
You can reissue a visa that is consistent with the visa type, entry validity period, stay period and remaining valid entry times of the original visa.
10. supporting materials required to apply for a stay permit (1) if a visa-free foreigner needs to stay outside the visa-free period for non-diplomatic or official reasons, he shall submit relevant supporting materials in accordance with the provisions of article 7 of the guidelines and may issue a stay permit for the corresponding period.
(2) If foreign crew members and their accompanying family members need to leave the city where the ship is docked, they shall submit seamen's certificates or other international travel documents and a letter of guarantee issued by the shipping agency, as well as plane (car, boat) tickets to determine the date and seat or other supporting materials related to the reason for their stay, and may issue a certificate of stay for a period of not more than 30 days.
(3) If it is necessary to stay in China after renouncing China nationality upon approval, it shall submit a certificate of renouncing China nationality, a foreign passport or other international travel documents, and supporting materials related to the reasons for staying, and may issue a stay certificate with a stay period not exceeding 180 days.
(4) If a foreigner's residence is terminated and needs to stay for humanitarian reasons, he/she shall submit his/her residence certificate and relevant supporting materials, and may issue a residence certificate. The residence period shall not exceed 30 days.
(5) If a foreign baby born in China needs to stay in China, it shall submit the baby's birth certificate, passport and passports of both parents, and may issue a stay certificate consistent with the stay period of both parents.
(6) Foreigners holding residence certificates who cannot leave the country within the validity period of the residence certificates due to objective reasons may apply for renewal of residence certificates. The application materials and renewal requirements shall be handled in accordance with the above provisions.
(7) If a foreigner's stay certificate is lost, damaged or stolen, he shall submit the certificate of loss of passport or the certificate of the embassy or consulate of the host country in China and a new valid passport or other international travel documents, and may reissue the stay certificate for the corresponding period.
1 1. Proof materials required for applying for residence certificate If the visa held by foreigners indicates that residence certificates are required after entry, they shall apply for residence certificates for foreigners to the exit-entry administration of the public security organ at the place where they intend to stay within 30 days from the date of entry.
When applying for a residence certificate with a validity period of more than 1 year, foreigners shall submit a physical health certificate issued by the local health and quarantine department or the health and medical department at or above the county level in accordance with the regulations, proving that the applicant does not suffer from serious mental disorder, infectious tuberculosis or other infectious diseases that may cause great harm to public health. And submit the following supporting materials as required:
(1) Work category: if you enter the country with a Z visa, you shall submit the work permit certificate issued by the local human resources and social security, foreign experts and other competent departments and the letter of confirmation issued by the work unit; Holders of other types of visas shall also submit certification materials that meet the conditions and requirements of foreign high-level talents and urgently needed specialized talents and investors determined by the relevant competent departments of China Municipal Government. For foreign high-level talents, urgently needed professionals and investors, residence certificates with a residence period of not more than 5 years can be issued; If you work in a reputable filing unit, you can issue a residence certificate with a residence period of no more than 2 years; For other personnel, residence certificates with residence period not exceeding 1 year can be issued.
(2) Type of study: for those who enter the country with X/KLOC-0 visa, submit a letter indicating the years of school study and a certificate of admission or admission; Those who enter the country with other kinds of visas shall also submit the certification materials issued by the competent department. You can issue a residence certificate that is consistent with the study period indicated by the school.
If a foreigner with a residence permit needs to take a part-time job or practice outside the school, he shall, with the consent of the school, submit a letter from the school and the internship unit agreeing to take a part-time job or practice outside the school, and apply to the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ for completing the residence permit.
(3) Journalists: if they enter the country with a J/KLOC-0 visa, they shall submit the letter issued by the foreign affairs department of the provincial people's government and the press card issued by them. You can issue a residence certificate with a residence period of no more than 1 year.
(4) Reunion category: if you enter the country with a Q/KLOC-0 visa, submit the identity certificate of the interviewee and a letter explaining the relationship between family members. Foreigners who enter the country with other visas shall also submit proof of family members' relationship. For those under 18 years of age and those who have reached 60 years of age, a residence certificate with a residence period of no more than 3 years can be issued, and the deadline for those under 18 years of age cannot exceed the date of their 18 years of age; Other personnel may be issued residence certificates with a residence period of no more than 2 years.
For foreign children under the age of 18 who are fostered by overseas Chinese in China, the foster trustee may apply for residence certificates from the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ where the household registration is located or the main residence. The applicant's birth certificate and a copy of the passport of the foreign parents should be submitted. If both parents or one of them is from China, a copy of the overseas settlement certificate shall also be submitted; The power of attorney of the applicant's parents and the power of attorney of the foster care trustee, which shall specify the entrusted custody or guardian, the foster care period, etc. The local permanent residence certificate of the trustee or the household registration certificate and resident identity card of the trustee who has actually lived for more than 6 months. You can issue a residence certificate with a validity period of not more than 3 years, and the end date of the residence period cannot exceed the date of 18 years old.
(5) Personal affairs: For those who enter the country with the S 1 visa, the relatives shall submit the letter and residence certificate issued by the interviewee explaining the kinship (spouse, parents, spouse's parents, children under 18). A residence certificate consistent with the visitor's residence period in China can be issued. Other personnel shall submit supporting materials related to handling private affairs. You can issue a residence certificate with a residence period of no more than 1 year.
If you enter the country with other kinds of visas, submit the letter, residence certificate and relatives (spouse, parents, parents of spouse, children under the age of 18) issued by the visitors. A residence certificate consistent with the visitor's residence period in China can be issued. Persons with humanitarian reasons can issue residence certificates with a residence period of no more than 1 year by submitting relevant certification materials: foreign Chinese who have reached the age of 60 and bought real estate in China should submit their own property certificates or notarized housing sales contracts and proof of economic sources; Foreigners who receive medical assistance and services in China shall submit a certificate of hospitalization for more than 6 months or a certificate of receiving medical services issued by a local medical institution at or above the county level or above the second level.
Twelve, apply for extension of residence permit foreigners to apply for extension of residence permit, residence permit shall expire 30 days before the application to the exit-entry administration of the public security organs, and provide relevant documents. Upon examination, if the reasons for the extension are reasonable and sufficient, the residence period shall be extended; Those who do not extend their residence period shall leave the country on schedule.
13. If the registered items (name, reason for residence, passport or other international travel document number, etc. Foreigners who apply for the change of residence certificate shall apply to the exit-entry administration of the public security organ for change within 10 days from the date of the change of registered items, and submit the basic personal information and relevant certification materials for the change of residence reasons with reference to the above provisions before they can renew their residence certificates.
Fourteen, apply for a replacement residence certificate
If a foreigner's residence certificate is lost, damaged or stolen, he/she should submit a passport loss report certificate or a note from the embassy or consulate of the host country in China or show his/her damaged certificate, as well as a new valid passport or other international travel documents, and can reissue the residence certificate.
15. If a foreigner applies for an entry-exit permit in China and fails to hold a valid passport or other international travel documents due to loss, damage, theft or invalidation, and cannot reissue them at the embassy or consulate of the country where he is located, he shall submit a certificate of loss of his passport or an explanation from the embassy or consulate of the country where he is located, or show his damaged or invalid certificate and a temporary identity certificate used instead of his passport. Foreigners' entry and exit permits valid for no more than 30 days may be issued.
16. Explanation of terms (1) Family members: including spouses, parents, parents of spouses, children, siblings, grandparents, grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren and spouses of children.
(2) Family member relationship certificate and kinship certificate: marriage certificate, birth certificate, adoption certificate, other kinship certificates and related notarial certificates issued by relevant state authorities; Marriage certificate, birth certificate, kinship certificate and name change certificate issued by embassies and consulates in China.
(3) The marriage certificate, birth certificate, kinship certificate, name change certificate and other materials issued by the foreign competent department or notary department shall be certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country.
(4) Identity certificate: Chinese mainland resident identity card clearly refers to the local permanent residence certificate or the residence certificate and identity card that has actually lived for more than 6 months; Overseas Chinese identity certificate refers to China passport and foreign settlement certificate; Hong Kong and Macao resident identity cards clearly refer to Hong Kong and Macao residents' passes to and from the Mainland; Taiwan Province ID card clearly refers to mainland travel permit for taiwan residents; Foreigners' identity certificate refers to foreigners' permanent residence permit. Overseas Chinese and residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan should also submit proof of residence for more than 6 months.
The above foreign language certification materials shall be translated into Chinese.
Seventeen, the examination and approval time, the exit and entry administration of the public security organ shall make a decision on whether to issue or not within 7 working days after accepting the application for visa and residence certificate of foreigners. Make a decision on whether to issue the residence certificate within 15 working days after accepting the foreigner's application.
If the applicant has justified reasons, he may apply to the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ for shortening the time limit for examination and approval of visa documents, and the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ may provide convenience according to the actual situation.
Eighteen. Effectiveness of examination and approval If the exit-entry administrative organ of the public security organ has the circumstances stipulated in Articles 21 and 31 of the Law on the Administration of Exit and Entry of Foreigners, it shall not issue a visa certificate.
The decision made by the exit-entry administration of the public security organ not to extend, renew or reissue the visa, not to apply for the foreigner's residence certificate, and not to extend the residence period is final.
Nineteen, foreigners' accommodation registration should be handled in accordance with the provisions of the "People's Republic of China (PRC) * * * and Entry-Exit Administration Law". When accepting an application for a visa from a foreigner, the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ may require the applicant to provide proof of residence registration in China.
Twenty, foreigners applying for visa documents should pay the fees according to the regulations.
