Xie Jinyuan (1905- 194 1) was born in China, Jiaoling County, Meizhou, Guangdong. Graduated from the whampoa military academy in the fourth phase, he has served as platoon leader, company commander, battalion commander, division staff officer, brigade staff officer, deputy head and head of the national army. The famous anti-Japanese hero, who led "eight hundred heroes" to defend Shanghai No.4 Reservoir in the Battle of Songhu, inspired the people's anti-Japanese enthusiasm, and was awarded the highest medal of honor in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression by the National Government-Right Sky and White Day Medal (No.69). 1941assassinated by a traitor bought by Wang Jingwei on April 24th.

The news that Xie Jinyuan was killed shocked the whole country. On may 8, the national government issued an order to posthumously award him as a major general of the army. 300,000 people in Shanghai went to the "lonely military camp" to pay tribute to the remains. Mao Zedong highly praised eight hundred heroes as "a model of national revolution". Jiang Zhongzheng is known as "faithful to the sun". After the founding of New China, Jinyuan High School and Jinyuan Park were established in Shanghai, and the road was named after Jinyuan Road and the community was named after Li Jinyuan as a memorial. After the Cultural Revolution in 1980s, the people of China and the government of China rebuilt its tomb in the international cemetery to show its brilliant achievements of "participating in the Anti-Japanese War and dying for the country".
