Wuzhen two-day tour

Speaking of Wuzhen, we are actually all familiar with it. Even if we haven't been there, we've seen pictures of it somewhere. There are small bridges and flowing water, and the environment is quiet. So let’s learn about Wuzhen today. How can we survive these two days?

Sequence of sightseeing tours

Recommended Xizha itinerary

Visitor Service Center - Andufang Wharf - Natural Vegetable Dyeing Workshop Xuchang Sauce Garden Yichang Ye Water Release Expo Wanxing Bridge The attractions are more scattered than those in Dongzha, because Tashi Scenic Area is composed of 12 small islands, and each island has some attractions.

Tips:

The east gate is very small, just on both sides of the river. You can see it by walking clockwise or counterclockwise. Half of the scenic spots on the Tashi route are on Tashi Street, which can be seen by walking along Tashi Street.

Itinerary Guide

The following is a simple guide based on the editor’s previous trip to Wuzhen for your reference. The east gate of Wuzhen is a straight line and the west gate is a circle. You can walk along the route and basically won’t miss any attractions!

Day1

Zhaoming Academy

The Zhaoming standard room we stayed in was right next to Zhaoming Academy. Zhaoming Academy is located in the scenic area. It was the place where King Ming of Liang Dynasty studied in Wuzhen. The ancient archway of the Ming Dynasty where Prince Liang Zhaoming and Shen Shangshu studied, is titled "Six Dynasties Scenic Spots" and is a landmark building of Zhaoming Academy. It is inevitable for ordinary tourists to take photos here.

There are ponds and ancient trees around the archway. You can take a break, or you can go to the nearby exhibition hall to see ancient plaques from past dynasties, as well as exhibitions of Mao Dun Literature Award winners and award-winning works of past dynasties.

Ding Bridge

The bridge below is called Dingsheng Bridge, connecting Lingshui Ju and Zhaoming Academy. According to legend, during the Southern Song Dynasty, Lu Dongbin, the Eight Immortals, sold glutinous rice cakes on this bridge. The big cake has three fillings, and the small cake has three fillings. As a result, many people spent money to buy big cakes. A scholar went to Beijing to take an exam and bought a small cake with three pence.

It is said that a scholar who went to Beijing to take the exam met a strange man selling glutinous rice cakes on this bridge. The cakes had no filling and were half-cooked, so he bought a small cake for threepence. Passersby laughed at the scholar for being stupid, but the scholar disagreed: Foreign objects are different for a reason.

The cake seller immediately gave him 10 words: It’s not strange that the cake was born, the cake was born today. Sure enough, soon the scholar won the first place in the examination, and the bridge was also known as Dingsheng Bridge. It turns out that this strange person is the great immortal Lu Dongbin.

Marshal Du Wen

Legend has it that in ancient times, a scholar discovered two plague ghosts throwing plague bugs into a well. To warn the villagers, the scholar jumped into the well. The illiterate villagers finally learned that there was poison in the well. The Jade Emperor named him Marshal Du Wen, and the villagers built temples in his honor.

Lingshui Ju

Lingshui Ju is the largest landscape garden attraction in Tashi. Mao Dun Memorial Hall and Cemetery are on the east side of Lingshui Mansion. There are also Wang, Kong Lingjing, Shen Zemin, etc. Their memorial hall is also located in Lingshui Mansion.

We two fools only stayed at the door for a short time and forgot to go to the garden inside. Do we have to miss some sights every time we travel?

Naganobo

The architectural structure of Naganobo is very unique. All the pillars are carved from stone and are locally called stone foot houses. This is to prevent sparks flying around during smelting from igniting the wood and causing a fire hazard.

You know there is a big pot in the patio.

Shen Jia’s exquisite smelting technology has been preserved to this day. Cast iron pots are rich in iron that is easily absorbed by the body and can reduce the loss of vitamins in vegetable cooking, but they have always been praised. Now the store mainly sells iron pots and various handicrafts.

Xujiangyuan

Built in the ninth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, it is the earliest soy sauce garden in Wuzhen, with a front store and a back store, mainly selling bean paste, soy sauce, pickles, etc. The sauce is brewed by traditional crafts using high-quality soybeans, broad beans, wheat and other raw materials, and is made with bamboo plaques. After half a year of natural exposure and fermentation, it is deeply loved by the locals.

Yuan Hong Taihao, Herbal Dyeing House

Thai Dyeing House is a dyeing house founded in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Next to it is a natural color dyeing workshop with vegetation, which bakes rich colors. It is extracted from local plant materials such as tea leaves, mulberry bark and tallow leaves. Therefore, this dyeing house is known locally as the Vegetation True Color Dyeing House.

Blue printed fabrics are dried on high shelves, and solid color fabrics are dried on low shelves. It’s really not easy to take beautiful photos under fluttering fabrics. It’s better to take dyed fabrics, as long as you are beautiful.

Mu Art Museum

Mu Xin is a contemporary Chinese literary master and painter. He is regarded as an elite and legendary figure who is well versed in traditional Chinese culture in Taiwan and the Chinese community in New York. Published many books. Born in 1927 in Dongzha, Wuzhen, Tongxiang, Zhejiang. His real name is Sun Pu, Yang Zhong is from Muxin, and his pen name is Mu Xin. Graduated from Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. Settled in New York in 1982. He passed away in his hometown of Wuzhen at 3:00 on December 21, 2011 at the age of 84.

The Mu Xin Art Museum is dedicated to commemorating and displaying Mu Xin’s lifelong efforts and aesthetic legacy. This is not only an art gallery that collects the past, but also a spiritual orientation and academic space for the future. It provides a complete document for the study of Mu Xin.

The Wooden Art Museum was carefully built by the team of I.M. Pei, who is good at using light to create architectural beauty. As far as the Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum and Mu Xin Art Museum have been visited, it really vividly embodies the famous sayings of Rangguang Design, which makes the entire art museum full of vitality. Rather than a visit to an art museum, it’s a great opportunity to admire Bayesian architecture.

Tips:

Although Mu Xin Art Museum is located in Wuzhen, you must purchase a separate ticket for 15 yuan/person.

The moonlight filled the west gate.

If Ximen looks good during the day, then Ximen at night is simply super good-looking, as high as X10086. When the lanterns come on, Tashi adds a unique atmosphere. Staying in Tashi at night, it is necessary to go to Tashi at night. When night falls, the lights of the riverside buildings shine on the calm river, making it as beautiful as the scenery in a painting. Compared with the peaceful and comfortable beauty of the Jiangnan water town during the day, it is a different kind of beauty. Tashi also has a bar street suitable for night owls, which is a good place to relax.

Day2

Longchang

Viewed from a high place, the farmland here is a dragon, hence the name Longchang. In summer, patches of sunflowers bloom, and the scene is spectacular. On a sunny day, sit on the swing and bask in the sun, feel free. To the north are Nagasaka Shigebashi and the water wheel.

Yuelao Temple

As the name suggests, Yuelao Temple is of course for weddings! The trees outside the temple are covered with red cards. I remember asking for an autograph for my CP here 4 years ago. Times have changed. Although the man is not married, the woman is. Here, I wish all CPs a happy marriage.

Wang Jinli

Actually, the Wang Jinli area refers to the surrounding area of ??Wang Jinli Boutique Hotel. Because it is located in the west of Tashi, few tourists go there. Looks pretty good. There is a fountain at the door. If you have enough budget and want a higher price, you can consider staying here.

The Lotus Tower overlooks the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

Wuzhen is known as "one scene, two towers, nine temples and thirteen nunneries". One scene refers to the view from the east gate, and one of the two pagodas is Anbali Pagoda Temple. The Lotus Pagoda, formerly known as the Golden Lotus Pagoda, was built during the Chongning period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1102-1106). After checking the information, I found out that the original White Lotus Pagoda was rebuilt in 2005.

The original White Lotus Pagoda, seven stories high and sixteen feet high, was destroyed during the war between Zhu Yuanzhang and Zhang Shicheng in Wuzhen

Climbing the White Lotus Pagoda is all to enjoy the scenery of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Although Yang Di appears as a negative image in the eyes of future generations, his construction of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal did promote the economic development of the north and south.

The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the longest and largest ancient canal in the world. It is also known as the three major engineering projects in ancient China along with the Great Wall and Karez. Climbing the White Lotus Pagoda is free, but the staff will control the number of people climbing the tower to avoid crowding on the tower.

Wenchang Pavilion

Built in the 10th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, it was specially built by Yan Chen to worship the stars who presided over the literary and sportsmanship, hence the name Wenchang Pavilion. Changge is dedicated to Emperor Wenchang, the god of fame and status in the world. In the past, whenever students passed science examinations and entered colleges and universities, students would come to worship for academic success and career success.

Another scholar will take a boat to Wenchang Pavilion to study. The boat docked at the pier, the scholar went upstairs, and the servants sat on the benches on both sides of the aisle downstairs and waited.

Guandi Temple

There is a majestic bronze statue of Emperor Guanwu in the Guandi Temple. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Wuzhen's business was very prosperous, and many wealthy businessmen gathered in the town. In addition, Wuzhen is the junction of two provinces and three capitals, and trade is very frequent. Many businessmen will pass through Wuzhen when doing business.

The Guandi Temple is located at the crossroads of water and land, so although Wuzhen does not have much direct contact with Guan Gong, the Guandi Temple in Tashi is very popular and has an endless stream of worshipers.

Yisihao

Yisi was founded in the early years of Guangxu (1875). The workshop fully demonstrates the processes of silkworm rearing, cocoon collection, silk reeling, and brocade weaving. You can also see the entire silk reeling process, operated by real people.

Wuzhen Post Office

It is not easy. Finally arrived at Wuzhen Post Office. Wuzhen in the Tang Dynasty was a very developed town with the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal running through it. Wuzhen Post has a long history. In the Yuan Dynasty, there were official horse stations and Shuiyi stations, most of which were set up in Wuzhen Jingzhong, that is, boats were used to transport official documents. There were fixed boatmen in the stations responsible for transporting official documents.

The Wuzhen River is a tributary of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and the Wuzhen Post Office is located on the Xishi River. Wuzhen Post Office is still open today. If you are interested, send a letter to your relatives and friends in the mailbox at the door.

Wuzhen Grand Theater

Wuzhen Grand Theater is adjacent to Mu Xin Art Museum and is composed of two ovals of different sizes superimposed. The architectural concept of "Bingdilian" is auspicious and festive.

The theater of Wuzhen Grand Theater is a large-scale social and cultural facility integrating drama, concert performances, exhibitions, and cultural and artistic exchanges. It also serves as an auxiliary function for rehearsals, conferences, research and other cultural activities. All instruments and equipment are of international standard. I think Wuzhen is worth watching the Wuzhen Theater Festival again.

Dongzha

We stayed for 1.5 hours to visit Dongzha.

To the east are Mu Xin's Former Residence Memorial Hall, Jiangnan Hundred Bed Hall, Folk Museum, Wood Carving Official, Mao Dun's Former Residence, etc. The Mu Former Residence Memorial Hall must be booked one day in advance, and there is no announcement. Who do you want to see it? Other attractions have zero visibility.

Wuzhen Catering

Wuzhen’s catering is also quite ‘awesome’. Why do you say that? Because every restaurant has the same menu, the same price, and is open and transparent, everyone can make money together. We had three meals and tried their hand-shredded cabbage, white water fish, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, minced eggplant, etc. 40-50 per person per meal. not bad. Recommended for white water fish.

The crack wall here recommends the ‘aunt’s cake’, which is cheap and delicious. We bought it at the specialty store at the entrance of Dongzha Scenic Area. Let’s take the pictures from the official website to make up the numbers. One dollar a bag, four dollars a bag.

The aunt cake in Wuzhen, Tongxiang, Zhejiang, is a traditional snack of the Han people, famous in Hangzhou, Jiaxing and Huzhou. Slightly larger than a chess piece, oily but not greasy, crispy but not loose, fragrant but waxy, sweet but salty. When people hear this name, they always think that this cake is made by my aunt. But on the contrary, the result was

Since we decided to go to Wuzhen at the last minute and it was the New Year's Day holiday, we had to book a room on the official website four days in advance. The B&B for 400 yuan has been booked long ago. All homestays include breakfast. Check what you want to eat on the list the day before, and the boss will cook it for you when you get up the next day. So sweet.

The amount of breakfast is also terrible. A hot drink (milk or soy milk or tea or coffee), a snack (toast or bacon fritters), a staple food (black sesame glutinous rice balls or three-thread noodles), as well as porridge, pumpkin porridge, vegetables, yams, sweet potatoes, Peanuts and fermented bean curd are all given away for free at the buffet. You can eat until your walls are broken.

Tips:

If you live in Wuzhen, you need to pay tickets, but you can get a temporary pass, and you can only enter and exit once. The west gate ticket is 120 and the east gate ticket is 150 for 100 tickets. The commercial atmosphere of Dongmen is so strong that it is not much different from the Zhujiajiao and Shaojialou ancient towns in Shanghai. Do you think the 100 yuan ticket is worth it?

Accommodation in Wuzhen

There are two ways to enter Ximen: land and water.

Most tourists will choose to enter the scenic spot by water, that is, by boat. We wanted to stay at BB early, and we were dragging a large luggage, so the staff suggested we take a battery car. If you are not in a hurry, you can leave your luggage to the staff. They will be delivered to your residence on time at 11:30. The battery car is equipped with a windshield and will not freeze during driving.

You don’t have to do it yourself when you get to the station. The staff will take the initiative to open the windshield for you and pick you up. It was treated like an emperor. So no matter which mode of transportation you choose to enter the scenic spot, it is very convenient. When you check out, hand your bags to your boss. When you return to the Tourist Information Center after your trip, your luggage will be waiting for you. Wuzhen really has nothing to say about its service.

How to enter Xizha

It is actually the main street of Wuzhen outside the scenic area, so you don’t have to worry too much about safety issues. There are many shops and hotels, you can choose for yourself. Moreover, it is more convenient to eat and buy daily necessities outside the scenic area. Moreover, the accommodation price is much cheaper than that in scenic spots, and the environment is also good. Because we are a student party and have insufficient funds, we choose to live outside the scenic area.

Outside the scenic area

Dongzha BB is privately owned, and the environmental facilities mentioned above are different. But one advantage of staying in the scenic spot is that your ticket can be used for two days. After playing on the first day, we returned to the hotel, and on the second day we went directly to the scenic spot where we stayed. Tashi BB is a unified management attraction, so the environment is good and the price is high.

Inside the scenic area

If you are basically in the scenic area, the B&B you stay in will provide meals. You can order it, and the price is not expensive. At the same time, you can walk into a B&B at any time during your trip and order food.

In addition, there are various specialty restaurants in Wuzhen Scenic Area and snacks along the streets. Don't be hungry anyway. The famous snacks there include: Sanbai wine, Wuzhen mutton, stinky tofu, white water fish, Wuzhen sauce duck, Dingsheng cake, etc.

Food Recommendations

Scenic Area Charges

These two areas belong to the daily life areas of local residents and have no systematic commercial planning and development, so they are free areas , no admission fee. There are many small shops and houses opened by local residents here, which basically retain the most authentic living conditions of Wuzhen. If you are interested, you can go for a walk. There are lots of snacks and fun places tucked away in the corners.

South Gate and North Gate

These two areas are the main attractions in Wuzhen. The east gate costs 100 yuan/ticket, the west gate 120 yuan/ticket, and the east gate and west gate 150 yuan/ticket (within two days) Valid, multiple entries and exits must be issued with a scenic spot accommodation certificate to be valid). Military personnel, the elderly, and primary and secondary school students can enjoy a discount of 60 yuan at the east gate, 80 yuan at the west gate, and 105 yuan for a combined ticket with their ID.

Tip: The ticket office does not sell tickets after 14:00. However, if you live in Tashi, you can buy a pass at the registration place and go to Dongzha the next day (all valid until 15:00 the next day, provided you live in Tashi Scenic Area).

Tips:

The combined ticket requires you to stay in Dongzha or Tashi Scenic Area, and you can enter and exit multiple times by applying for multiple entry and exit documents.

Otherwise, even if it is a combined ticket, once you leave the scenic area,
