The concerning fraud case of forging Yi Yang Qianxi’s endorsement contract has come to a conclusion. On August 20, the People's Court of Jing'an District, Shanghai made the first-instance verdict on the Rashomon fraud case involving Yi Yang Qianxi's endorsement advertising, and sentenced Song to 14 years in prison and a fine of 600,000 yuan.
As far as I know, a cosmetics company entrusted Song to sign Yi Yang Qianxi as a new advertising spokesperson for the product based on a previous cooperative relationship. In fact, Song forged Yi Yang Qianxi's endorsement contract and charged high endorsement fees and filming fees. This case of forged endorsement contracts caused an uproar in 2018 and aroused heated discussions among netizens.
Reports show that Song showed the contract signed between his company and Yi Yang Qianxi’s company, stipulating that Song would be responsible for endorsement-related matters. Therefore, the cosmetics company transferred the endorsement fee to Song's account, but then Song asked the cosmetics company for several million in filming fees.
Afterwards, the cosmetics company thought that the spokesperson had been identified as Yi Yang Qianxi, so it posted a silhouette photo on its Tmall flagship and asked netizens to guess who the new spokesperson was. As fans of Yi Yang Qianxi, they quickly guessed that the photo was of Yi Yang Qianxi. However, Yi Yang Qianxi Studio issued two statements stating that it had never signed an endorsement agreement with the cosmetics company. After the cosmetics company called the police, Song was arrested by the police on suspicion of fraud.
After the verdict of this fraud case was announced, some netizens clearly pointed out that the celebrity endorsement fees are too high. Yi Yang Qianxi’s endorsement fee has already reached tens of millions in 2018? Celebrity is indeed the easiest industry to make money. The endorsement fees and shooting fees can reach tens of millions. It is so easy to make money! I remember that before, Jack Ma asked Yi Yang Qianxi to endorse Tmall, and Jack Ma also paid up to 80 million yuan in endorsement fees.
We can’t help but sigh that the money-making ability of celebrities is really beyond the imagination of ordinary people! The sky-high endorsement fees are truly unacceptable!
