Princess Leonor, born on October 31, 2005, is the granddaughter of former Spanish King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia, and the granddaughter of Spanish King Felipe VI and Letizia The eldest daughter born to the queen. She is the first heir to the Spanish throne and the youngest first heir to the throne in Europe today. Princess Leonor was born at the Ruber International Clinic in Madrid on October 31, 2005, at 1:46 am, by caesarean section. The princess weighs 3.5 kilograms and is 47 centimeters (18.5 inches) long. In January 2006, the princess was baptized by the water of the Jordan River. The baptismal name was Leonor de Todos los Santos (Leonor of All Saints), which is a tradition of the Bourbon royal family. She has a younger sister, Sofia (born April 29, 2007).
