The works of Ma Yuan, a court painter, are mostly based on the theme of "towering and straight", such as "Yan Shi Tu of Deng Hua" at the emperor's banquet and "Jiang Yan Tu" by literati. ...
Occasionally, I will draw some paintings with the theme of "farm music", such as "Walking Map".
Ma Yuan191.8x104.5cm, Beijing Palace Museum.
The theme is "stepping on a song", and the proportion of characters is not large, but it is extremely eye-catching in the whole painting. It is also the four thin and slightly drunk old farmers on the ridge of the field who have vividly interpreted the ancient forms of singing and dancing.
Four Old Peasants in Tagetu
Four old farmers are dancing, as if marching happily in the same rhythm. The following is an animation of "Treading on Songs" adapted from Ma Yuan's works. You can experience it.

Among Ma Yuan's works, the most distinctive one is Fishing Alone in the Cold River.
In this work less than half a meter, except for a few microwaves, it is almost completely blank. However, it is this blank that shows the vast river and strong sense of space, and highlights the word "independence".
The solo fishing map of the Han River: Ma Yuan (26.7 x 50.6 cm) is collected by the National Museum of Tokyo, Japan.
When we zoom in on the boat in the center of the picture, the details are even more amazing.
The fisherman in robes does not stretch, but sits in the corner of the boat. The cold and bleak atmosphere on the river, the distant artistic conception and the imagination are vividly on the paper.
Only by this action of the fisherman, the coldness of the "cold river" has touched the skin.
Part of a map of fishing alone in a cold river.
When the fisherman sat at one end of the boat, the tail of the boat tilted slightly upward.
In spite of the cold weather, the fisherman is still cautious. Ma Yuan showed his profile, but after the enlargement, we can still feel his concentration from the corner of the fisherman's eye and expression.

The Map of Jiangfanshan City is unsigned, so it is difficult to verify who the author is. However, from the analysis of pen and ink painting style, it should be close to the works of Yan Wengui, a painter in the Northern Song Dynasty.
The color of the whole painting is elegant, and the two peaks embrace each other, and the mountain temple wild shop looms in the meantime. The temple is located in a ravine and built on the mountain. Clouds around the valley, birds singing, a busy scene.
Map of Jiangfanshan City in the National Palace Museum in Taipei, anonymous, 28.6 x 44. 1 cm.
The size of this work is not large, but the scenery in the painting is extremely delicate and realistic. All the ships, temples, wild shops and other buildings are described accurately and vividly.

The Journey to the Western Hills is the work of Fan Kuan, a painter in the Northern Song Dynasty. When you open this painting, a big mountain stands in front of you. Along with the scenery, there are many inscriptions by collectors, and these inscriptions have become the only clue to uncover the famous paintings that have been circulated for thousands of years.
The travel map of Xishan Mountain is collected in Fan Kuan 206.3 x 103.3 cm Taipei National Palace Museum.
The most interesting thing about this painting is the artist's signature.
Fan Kuan's signature is quite hidden. If this work is not enlarged by 10 times, the signature hidden in the bush on the right side of the "sender" may not be found.
▲ Hidden Fan Kuan signature.
▲ Flower shops and southern goods-the romance of Ming people is no less than ours.
▲ Bookstore-The countertop of this counter is great. ...
▲ Dumping-don't really think it is a big promotion of "two yuan for the whole audience", but it actually means "silver dumping shop", which is an ancient shop for smelting and casting silver ingots. ...
