Note: All Chinese documents included in visa application materials must be accompanied by English or French translations.
(1) Visiting relatives and friends
Basic materials:
1. Complete the "Temporary Resident Visit Visa Application Form" (IMM5257). Each applicant and each accompanying child must complete and sign their respective application forms. Accompanying children aged 18 and above must complete and sign their own application forms. Application forms for those under 18 must be signed by their parent or guardian.
2. The applicant and each accompanying family member aged 18 or above must complete the "Family Information Form" (IMM 5645) in Chinese, English or Chinese and French.
3. If applicable, the applicant and each accompanying family member aged 18 or above must complete the "Education and Employment Details Form" in Chinese, English or Chinese and French.
4. The applicant and each accompanying family member must submit two identical color or black-and-white photos taken within the last six months, with a pure white or light-colored background. The photo frame size is 35mm x 45mm. The person's name and date of birth (day/month/year) are written in pinyin on the back of each photo.
5. Valid passports of the applicant and each accompanying family member. Each passport must contain at least one blank page except the last page, and the passport must be valid for at least six months before travel.
6. A copy of the applicant’s Chinese ID card (front and back).
7. Two sticky stickers with the applicant’s current address written in Chinese (no envelope required).
8. If someone else handles the visa application on your behalf, you must fill in the "Agent Information Form" (IMM 5476E).
9. Applicants under the age of 18 must have a "Parental Consent Letter" issued by their unaccompanied parent/parents agreeing to their travel. This letter should include information such as the applicant's travel date and his/her parents' contact information.
10. If you are employed, use the original leave approval letter on company letterhead and signed by the employer, and include the following information: applicant’s name, position, income, date of employment, written in Chinese Employer's full name, address, telephone number and fax.
11. If retired, a retirement certificate stating the applicant’s pension is required.
12. If the applicant is a student and travels during non-school holidays, an original letter from the school confirming his/her enrollment and good performance and approving his/her absence is required.
13. Fund proof materials. Show the original bank documents recorded in the past few months (such as deposit certificates, passbooks, etc.), and proof of assets in China (such as original real estate certificates, original vehicle registration certificates, etc.).
Other materials:
1. Invitation letter stating the purpose and duration of the visit.
2. Information about the inviter. A detailed list of the inviting person’s family members, a copy of the inviting person’s citizenship or immigration status document, and proof of the inviting person’s income and property status. If you invite someone to study in Canada, you must have an admission letter from the school.
(2) Travel (group of four or less)
1. The basic materials are the same as those required for “Visiting Relatives and Friends”.
2. Detailed travel itinerary.
3. Past travel certificates (such as used passports, etc.).
4. The full name and address of the agency that assisted the applicant in arranging the trip (whether the agency is in China or Canada).
(3) Travel (organized with a travel agency)
1. The basic materials are the same as those required for "Visiting Relatives and Friends".
2. A letter from a Chinese travel agency, containing the following information: the names of all tourists in the group, the name of the tour guide accompanying the group, the name of the Canadian cooperative tourism agency, and the detailed itinerary.
3. A copy of the tour guide certificate of the group leader.
4. The group leader shall provide an original letter signed by the employer and containing the following information: job title, employment period, etc.
(4) Business
1. The basic materials are the same as those required for “Visiting Relatives and Friends”.
2. Invitation letter.
If engaging in inter-company business activities, it must be issued by the party with whom the applicant has direct business dealings, rather than from a third party who only assists in arranging business meetings. The invitation letter must include the full name and position of the inviter, company address, telephone number and fax; The names of all members of the group and their respective positions and the full names of their respective employers; the reason for the invitation, including details of the business or trade to be conducted; the expected duration of the visit and detailed itinerary; and a statement stating the responsibility for payment of all expenses related to the trip.
3. If participating in a trade exhibition or other business meeting, a letter from the meeting organizer confirming that the applicant has registered is required.
4. Use the original leave approval letter on company letterhead and signed by the employer, and include the following information: purpose of travel; applicant’s name, position, income, date of employment; written in Chinese Employer's full name, address, telephone number and fax; statement stating responsibility for payment of all expenses related to the trip.
5. For personal business activities such as investment, please see the relevant website for specific material requirements.
(5) Transit
1. The basic materials are the same as those required for “Visiting Relatives and Friends”.
2. Copies of air tickets and/or travel itinerary. Indicate the number of times you intend to transit Canada and the date of each transit.
3. Valid visa for the final destination country.
4. An invitation letter issued by the inviting party of the destination country, or a plan explaining the purpose of the applicant’s trip.
5. Past travel certificates (such as used passports, etc.).
(6) Short-term study (six months or less)
1. The basic materials are the same as those required for “Visiting Relatives and Friends”.
2. Original employment certification letters issued by the respective employers of the applicant’s parents on company letterhead, indicating the parents’ position, income and date of employment.
3. Student groups need to submit an invitation letter containing project details and a list of group members, and explain their responsibility for paying relevant fees.
4. The original and a copy of the admission notice from a Canadian school, stating the exact amount of tuition fees that the applicant needs to pay, the expected start and end time of study, and the latest time the applicant can register.
5. Notarized copy of the applicant’s highest academic qualification.
(7) Study Permit Visa
1. Complete the "Study Permit Application Form" (IMM 1294). If the applicant’s spouse and/or children are traveling with the applicant, they must also use the correct application form to completely fill in their respective application information.
2. The applicant’s fully completed “Dependents Form and Education and Employment Details Form” should be completed in Chinese, English or Chinese and French. The applicant's parents must complete the "Dependents Form and Education and Employment Information Form" respectively.
3. Applicants need to submit two identical color or black-and-white photos taken within the last six months, with a pure white or light-colored background. The photo frame size is 35mm x 45mm. The person's name and date of birth (day/month/year) are written in pinyin on the back of each photo.
4. My valid passport. Passports must contain at least one blank page except the last page and be valid for at least six months.
5. A copy of the applicant’s Chinese ID card (front and back).
6. Two sticky stickers with the applicant’s current address written in Chinese (no envelope required).
7. A copy of the medical examination form provided by the designated medical examiner (if the physical examination has been completed).
8. The original and a copy of the admission notice from a Canadian school, stating the exact amount of tuition fees that the applicant needs to pay, the expected start and end time of study, and the latest time the applicant can register.
9. Study plan mentioned in the Study Permit Guide.
10. If the application is handled by another person, the "Agent Information Form" (IMM 5476E) must also be filled out.
11. Original copy of my household registration booklet.
12. Notarized copies of all university or college qualifications obtained, as well as transcripts of current courses. If you have not yet graduated, please indicate your expected graduation date and what degree, qualification or certificate you will receive.
13. Notarized copies of high school graduation certificates and notarized copies of transcripts stamped with the official seal of the high school attended.
14. Notarized certificate of no criminal record.
15. Proof reflecting at least twelve months of accumulated fund history. Including the original certificate of deposit of funds available within the last two months; the original deposit receipt and/or original passbook; and a written explanation of the source of funds. If there are relevant documents for other forms of assets, they can also be provided.
16. Proof of income and employment of the applicant’s parents, and original parents’ tax payment slips for the past twelve months issued by the local tax authority.
17. If one or both parents own or partially own a company, they need to submit a notarized copy of the business registration certificate, recent tax payment receipts, the company's financial audit report and capital verification report for the previous financial year.
18. If the applicant is employed, submit an original letter of employment certification, including the employer’s full name, address and phone number: the applicant’s employment years there, position, income in the past two years, and whether there are any bonuses and additional income.
19. If the applicant receives funding from a Canadian school or other organization, original documents detailing the funding the applicant will receive for each year of the expected study period must be submitted.
20. If you go to study in certain provinces in Canada, you will need a guardianship statement and other other materials. For details, please visit the relevant websites.
(8) Student Cooperation Program Visa
1. Complete the "Study Permit Application Form" (IMM 1294).
2. If the applicant’s spouse or children plan to travel together, they must also use the correct application form to completely fill in their respective application information.
3. The "Dependents Form and Education and Employment Details Form" completed by the applicant must be completed in Chinese, English or Chinese and French.
4. The applicant’s parents must complete the “Dependents Form and Education and Employment Information Form” respectively in Chinese, English or Chinese and French.

13. Notarized copies of high school diplomas and transcripts stamped with the official seal of the high school attended.
14. If the applicant is currently studying in a university or college, or has graduated from a university or college, he or she must submit notarized copies of all university or college academic qualifications obtained, as well as transcripts of all courses attended. If you have not yet graduated, indicate when you expect to graduate and what degree, qualification, or certificate you will receive.
15. If the application is handled by another person, the "Agent Information Form" (IMM 5476E) must also be filled out.
16. If the applicant is under 18 years old, a guardianship declaration is required. If you are over 18 years old, you must submit a notarized certificate of no criminal record.

(9) Work Permit Visa
1. Complete the "Work Permit Application Form" (IMM 1295). If the applicant’s spouse and/or children plan to travel with the applicant, they must use the correct application form to completely fill in their respective application information.
2. The applicant’s fully completed “Dependents Form and Education and Employment Details Form” must be completed in Chinese, English or Chinese and French.
3. Applicants need to submit two identical color or black-and-white photos taken within the last six months, with a pure white or light-colored background. The photo frame size is 35mm x 45mm. The person's name and date of birth (day/month/year) are written in pinyin on the back of each photo.
4. My valid passport. Passports must contain at least one blank page except the last page and be valid for at least six months.
5. A copy of the applicant’s Chinese ID card (front and back).
6. Two sticky stickers with the applicant’s current address written in Chinese (no envelope required).
7. If a third party helps the applicant prepare this application, the "Agent Information Form" (IMM 5476E) must also be filled out.
8. Notarized certificate of no criminal record.
9. A copy of the employment contract signed by the applicant and the Canadian employer, or an original job opportunity letter detailing future job responsibilities and employment period.
10. The labor market opinion provided by the Canadian Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, or provide documentation stating that the opinion is exempted, or the opinion is being applied for, or provide documentation stating that this occupation allows labor market opinion and Apply for a work permit at the same time.
11. If the labor market opinion provided by the Canadian Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development indicates that membership qualifications of a certain professional society are required, proof of such qualifications must be provided.
12. The original leave approval letter issued by the current employer in China must contain the following information: the applicant’s name, position and current income; the employer’s full name, address, telephone number and fax in Chinese.
13. Original copies of all occupational and professional certificates related to work in Canada (such as professional qualification certificates).
14. If you work in Quebec, you must submit a valid Quebec Acceptance Letter (CAQ).
