Personal choice of DV certificate: single domain name, wildcard, multi-domain name certificate.
Government and enterprises choose OV and EV certificates: single domain name, OV wildcard and multi-domain name certificate.
I. Single Domain Name Certificate
You only need to use SSL certificates for a single domain name. You can choose any SSL certificate.
1. When applying for a domain name certificate with www prefix, the default is to protect the main domain name without www (for example, you bought www.gworg.com and gave it to gworg.com, and vice versa).
2. When you apply for a certificate for a subdomain with other prefixes, you can only protect the current subdomain, but not the main domain without prefixes.
Second, the multi-domain certificate
Multi-domain SSL certificate supports any domain name. You have several domain names with completely different top-level domains, and you need to use SSL certificates (such as gworg 1.com, gworg2.com, gworg3.com, etc. ). Please select an SSL certificate type that supports multiple domain names.
Note: The number of domain names protected by multi-domain certificates of each brand is different by default. Sometimes, after the number of domain names protected by the multi-domain certificate itself is exceeded, it is necessary to pay for adding another domain name, but compared with a single application, it saves a lot of costs, including the purchase cost and the time cost brought by the audit.
Third, wildcard certificates.
This version of the certificate can protect all subdomains at the same level under the same main domain name (multiple subdomains of the same top-level domain name need SSL certificates, such as a.gworg.com, b.gworg.com, c.gworg.com, d.gworg.com, etc. ), and there is no restriction (for example, when gworg.com applies for a wildcard certificate, the csr domain name is *.gworg.com, and * can be any prefix).
