Today's achievements are not in vain. In 1997, Ceng Wenqi went to Suzhou alone, first exploring the OEM market in the mainland, and then playing the BenQ brand, and never stopped. Last year, he got married in Suzhou and took root. His future life planning, like building a brand, is ideal and enthusiastic.
Lost Youth
Ceng Wenqi spent his childhood and youth in Dihua Street, Taipei. His father ran a North-South grocery store. He was influenced by the atmosphere of "buying and selling" since childhood and was no stranger to marketing. However, he didn't get into business, instead, he was admitted to the famous China Taiwan Jiaotong University, where he studied shipping technology, an unpopular subject, and went sailing as an intern sailor during the summer vacation. At that time, the social status of running a boat in Taiwan Province, China was not high, but Ceng Wenqi didn't mind, but fell in love with the days of traveling around the world.
After seeing the outside world, Ceng Wenqi chose to continue his studies, first admitted to the Tsinghua University Institute in Taiwan Province, China, and then completed two years of military service, and then entered the enviable Taiwan Province Industrial Technology Research Institute in China to study automobile engines. However, the high salary and generous position did not stop him. He still wanted to see the United States, get a doctorate and go back to Taiwan to teach whipping. When he was studying at the University of Missouri in the United States, he felt even more uneasy: "It's nothing to get a doctorate in Europe and the United States." A year later, he returned to Taiwan Province, China, and wanted to see the actual environment of the enterprise. He worked in seven or eight small and medium-sized enterprises and even listed companies, and the shortest one resigned after only working for five days.
I work hard, but I am happy
In 1994, Ceng Wenqi joined BenQ Computer Co., Ltd. as the global product manager of CD-ROM, responsible for promoting CD-ROM, and traveled all over Europe, the United States, Japan and Korea. In 1997, he was sent to the mainland to explore the market and started his career in the motherland. Ceng Wenqi came to BenQ base camp in Suzhou alone to set up his marketing team. Salespeople travel all over China, from selling OEM products to branding. The workload is amazing, and a little gray hair and feet are a good proof. However, for Ceng Wenqi, who was constantly lost in the direction of life and work in the past, it was actually a kind of happiness: "There is a lot of work, but the content is practical enough, and I like it very much, so happiness will not be hard. If you love playing mahjong, you won't find it hard to stay up late. " Is the happiness in his mouth accompanied? With the continuous growth of their abilities, they are more and more sure about the future: "How to make more and more people lead them have the same idea and quality is also a kind of growth." In recent years, BenQ has more and more employees in the mainland: "At first, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu were developed, then Wuhan, Xi 'an, Shandong and Henan. With the increase of talents, the market became more and more detailed."
In Ceng Wenqi's eyes, the mainland market is very complicated. Like Europe, different places have different cultures and habits, and different sales channels and media. Therefore, a large number of talents must be used to explore the market, and the cultivation and communication of talents is the biggest difficulty for him to develop in the mainland: "How to make everyone have the same view as you? The shaping of this subculture is very important. I usually spend a lot of time communicating with people, dealing with people, and arranging the growth of talents. "Although Ceng Wenqi is in charge of the marketing headquarters, he is not the kind of person who roars at his subordinates with figures every day. Instead, he loves to cultivate and touch employees, adjust their views and shape BenQ's unique subculture by writing articles, such as" Wen Qi Qi Qi Wen "columns and book clubs. The same is true for branding. Instead of brainwashing the audience with a large number of advertisements, he moves the hearts of media workers with a cultural attitude, and then infects the public through the media, making the brand like religious worship.
Stay in the Mainland after retirement
BenQ can be regarded as the longest-working company in Ceng Wenqi's life. It has been nearly ten years now. In the past few years in the Mainland, he not only made a splash for Benq, but also became a great achievement in his career. He also found the other half of his life, got married and settled down: "It should be said that it is very stable, so stable that he will not change his second job and will not help other companies. Because I can't see another world brand like BenQ, it should be world-class in 3 ~ 5 years, and it should be the brand I want to do most. I also believe that China's economy will grow rapidly in the next 5-1 years, and the mainland is very important to the success of BenQ. I hope to stay and train talents and let them make brands abroad. And I am in my 4 s, I will retire after I finish, and then I will be a teacher or write an article. "
When it comes to teaching, Ceng Wenqi is even more eloquent. What he wants most is to be a teacher: "I hope to teach MBA or EMBA and teach people how to be entrepreneurs." Interestingly, he was born and raised in Taiwan Province, China, but he still wants to stay in the Mainland after retirement: "Only when there is more room in the Mainland, can I have the opportunity and conditions to create an international brand, and my experience will be used. If China and Taiwan Province need their own place, of course, they will go back. They may spend half their time in the mainland and half in Taiwan Province, China. Maybe they will give lectures in Europe or the United States. " He hopes to teach students practical experience, just like those teachers from enterprises in Lausanne School of Management in Switzerland. (Jin Xiao)
