Extras, or extras, commonly known in Hong Kong as: Qie Ling Fei, Lin Ji or Passerby A, refer to actors who play idle roles such as peddlers, diners in restaurants, and passers-by. Because their nature is similar to that of walk-on actors in traditional opera, they are sometimes called walk-on actors. In movies, stage or TV shows, these actors are usually hired on short-term contracts and are called "extras". In Hong Kong, they are commonly known as "Lin Ji", temporary recording actors.
