Sanjie Liu is a folk legend of Zhuang nationality. Its legend was first seen in the Southern Song Dynasty Wang Xiang's "Ji Yu Sheng Land" volume 98 "Sanmei Mountain". According to legend, Sanjie Liu was a Zhuang peasant girl in the Tang Dynasty. She is young and clever and is regarded as a "goddess". At the age of twelve, I can preach the scriptures, point to things and ask for songs, and I can speak immediately. Composed and sung by himself, the music is as beautiful as a spring, and it does not lose its melody. Therefore, it has the reputation of "singing fairy". At the age of fifteen, it was hired by Lin. In the tenth year of Tang Kaiyuan (722), in order to resist Lin's forced marriage, he eloped with his lover Zhang, and there was nowhere to go. Many people think that both of them have become immortals. According to the legend of Zhuang nationality in Yishan, Guangxi, Sanjie Liu was born in the first year of Tang Zhongzong Shenlong (703). She was brilliant and good at singing since she was a child. 12 years old, eloquent, speaks with songs, and is famous for his strong hometown flavor. Later, he went to various places nearby to preach songs. People come to sing with her in an endless stream, ranging from one day to three or five days. They are all tongue-tied, speechless and shy. But her talent was hated by hooligans and bullies, and later she was killed in Liuzhou. Legend has it that after her death, she rode a carp and became a fairy. Others said that she and the white crane boy sang a duet in Xishan of your county for seven days and turned into stones. Others said that Mo Huairen, the rich man, wanted to marry her as a concubine, Third Sister resolutely resisted, Mo bought off the government to persecute Third Sister, and Third Sister drifted away by boat, and so on.

Although the legend is different, the Zhuang people's respect and love for her for thousands of years are the same. At present, there are statues or temples of Sanjie Liu in many places in Guangxi. Whenever there is a new collection of Zhuang songs, she must first hold a portrait of herself. In some places, the first item on the agenda is to carry her statue in the parade. Zhuang people revere her as a "singing fairy", and there is still a eulogy of "Today Guangxi sings into the sea, and all three sisters have been handed down from generation to generation".

"March 3rd" is the biggest song fair day in Zhuang area, also known as "Song Xian Festival". According to legend, this is a folk festival in memory of Sanjie Liu. 1984, the people's government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region officially designated this day as the national festival "March 3" of the Zhuang people. On this day every year, Nanning, the capital of the autonomous region, and other places will hold a grand song concert.
