The whole treatment process described in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is similar to that written in history, except that Guan Yu and Ma Liang play chess. When Hua Tuo came to see Guan Yu, Ma Liang was playing chess with Guan Yu. When Hua Tuo entertained Guan Yu, Guan Yu hosted a banquet for him and continued to play chess with Ma Liang while drinking. We can see that in history, Guan Yu only had a normal meal with his subordinates during the whole treatment, as if nothing had happened. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the author, as an admirer of Guan Yu, of course wants to write a large book about Guan Yu. Therefore, the author skillfully used writing techniques to artistically deal with this incident, making Guan Yu's image taller.
In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Luo Guanzhong replaced the arrow arm with his right arm, which also laid the groundwork for the confrontation with Huang Xu. He changed the time when Guan Yu was shot by an arrow to the battle of Xiangfan, which strengthened the sense of urgency of treatment. The doctor was replaced by Hua Tuo, an imperial doctor, which reflected Guan Yu's position. Only the imperial doctor is qualified to treat Wu Sheng.
Guan Yu's injury was also written by the author as critical. The long-term old injury originally said in history was written by the author as "the right arm is bruised and swollen, so it can't exercise". At the critical moment of Fancheng's siege, Guan Yu was unwilling to retreat and recuperate, which aggravated the injury. At this time, the arrival of Hua tuo brought hope to everyone. Hua Tuo naturally lived up to his reputation as an imperial doctor, and told his own treatment plan, that is, scraping the bone to cure poison.
Naturally, in order to contrast Guan Yu's tall image, Hua Tuo also cited the treatment of ordinary people. Put up a post in a secluded place and nail a big ring. Please put your arm into the ring, tie it with a rope and cover its head. I cut the meat with a sharp knife all the way to the bone, scrape curare from the bone, apply medicine, and sew its mouth with thread, and nothing will happen. "In the end, Hua Tuo specially emphasized," lest you and your ears. "
We know Guan Yu's temper. He is desperate and arrogant. This treatment is his chance to show his heroism to the world. He said generously that such an easy thing doesn't need a column ring or something like that. Therefore, Guan Yu asked for a banquet.
Guan Yu's arm was treated by Hua Tuo, and his condition immediately improved. According to the book, Guan Yu laughed after Hua Tuo's treatment and praised Hua Tuo as a great doctor. Hua tuo lamented that he had been a doctor all his life and had never seen such a situation, praising Guan Yu as a god. After Luo Guanzhong's wonderful description of flowers, Guan Yu's tall image emerged in front of everyone.
Win or lose in chess between Guan Yu and Ma Liang.
It can be seen from this that Guan Yu's treatment of Hua Tuo's bone scraping and poison treatment is not serious at all, and he also describes Guan Yu's elegant atmosphere.
Then, since there is a chess game, there is a winner. Who won this chess game, Guan Yu or Ma Liang? Judging from the description in the book, this chess game should be endless. As soon as Hua Tuo was treated by Guan Yu, Guan Yu laughed, told his ministers that his arm was as comfortable as ever, and praised Hua Tuo as a great doctor.
From the above description, we can see what Guan Yu is most concerned about. That is to heal the arm injury quickly so as to continue the northern expedition. As he said, "I take Fancheng, only in front of me; When you take Fancheng, you will March into Xudu and wipe out cao thief, so as to secure the Han family. " After Hua Tuo received treatment, he quickly explained to the generals that his injury was not serious, which boosted everyone's confidence.
Then, the outcome of the chess game is not Guan Yu's concern. He is eager to attack Fancheng again and express his gratitude to Hua Tuo. This game will naturally stop everywhere. This game of chess is not finished, so naturally there will be no winner. However, it is conceivable that Guan Yu has the upper hand in this chess game. If he is finished, Guan Yu will undoubtedly win.
Ma Liang
Ma Liang (A.D. 187-222), whose name is Ji Chang. A native of Yicheng, Xiangfan, a famous minister of Shu and Han. Five brothers, all famous. Ma Liang's eyebrows have white hair, and his hometown people say that "horses have five permanent members, and white eyebrows are the best." Li Guan engaged in, left the general to slap, and serve the middle school. He has a good relationship with Zhuge Liang, which can be seen from two things:
Zhuge Liang went to Shu with Liu Bei and wrote to Zhuge Liang, saying that Luocheng (now Guanghan County, Sichuan Province) had been captured, and my brother wanted to make great achievements and push forward with victory. On this basis, people speculate that he and Zhuge Liang are brothers or related by blood. Zhuge Liang is old, so he calls Liang his brother.
Ma Liang was ordered to be sent to Wu Dong. He asked Zhuge Liang to write a recommendation letter to Sun Quan, and Zhuge Liang asked him to draft and sign it himself. The last two sentences hope that Sun Quan will "calm down and be patient to comfort his life". After reading the letter, Sun Quan respected him very much. In the first year of Zhangwu (AD 22 1 year), Liu Bei sent him to Wuling (now southwest of Hunan Province) to join the barbarians and help Shu cut Wu, which was highly valued by Liu Bei. Later, in the battle of Yiling, Liu Bei was defeated and Ma Liang was killed.
The five brothers Ma Liang were famous when they were young. There is a proverb in the village: "There are five permanent members in the history of horses, and white eyebrows are the best."
