Quotation: "Customized by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, he is in charge of military affairs and is in charge of military duties. The army of the general is divided into five departments. Each department has one captain, with a rank of two thousand stones; one military commander, with a rank of In Qianshi, there is no captain's department, but only one military commander. Zhongdafu, Army Sima Sergeant, Army Sima Sergeant, and Army Sima Brigade Corporal."

What is Sima? During the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the position of Sima appeared in the army. The army of the general was divided into five divisions, each led by a Sima. In the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, generals opened their own mansions, and each mansion had a Sima, who was ranked second to the general and was in charge of the military affairs of the mansion, equivalent to the chief of staff in later generations. It can be seen that Sima has great power. Wudang Sima should belong to the category of Sima from other departments. The Sima of other tribes is affiliated with the other leaders' camps, which is equivalent to the current independent brigades and regiments. Some tribal leaders are often awarded the position of Sima of other tribes. The meaning of Sima's seal is just like the meaning of today's signature, which represents an individual's name. Below is a Han Dynasty-style Sima seal that I was lucky enough to see. I would like to share it with you~

This Sima seal feels thick and heavy when held in the hand. The seal text is square and regular, with four characters equally dividing the print surface. The strokes are thick and powerful, making the seal surface characterized by thick strokes and compact structure. There are fewer strokes in the word "SI" in this seal. In order to coordinate with the other three characters, the strokes are deliberately thickened to make the seal surface fuller. The vertical painting of "口" has a certain curvature, which makes the seal surface full of vividness. . After the merciless baptism of years of wind and rain, the appearance is full of traces of history, the patina is very mellow, and it has extremely high ornamental and collection value.

The above is my brief understanding of Sima Yin. If you have anything to add, please leave a message in the comment area~
