Lexin Information Technology (68818.SH) announced the launch of ESP32-H2 chip, integrating IEEE 82.15.4 and Bluetooth 5.2 (LE) technologies in 2.4 GHz band for the first time. The release of ESP32-H2 indicates that Lexin has added support for IEEE 82.15.4 technology in addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology, and once again broke through the technical research and development of embedded MCU wireless communication chip, further expanding the company's product line and technical boundary of Internet of Things. ESP32-H2 integrates DC-DC converter, which can realize energy-saving operation with extremely low power consumption. It is worth mentioning that the Bluetooth 5.2 low-power Bluetooth subsystem of the chip is independently designed and developed by Lexin technical team.
ESP32-H2 combines two important wireless connection technologies: IEEE 82.15.4 has a broad application field by supporting Thread and Zigbee protocols for low-power mesh network scenarios; Bluetooth LE supports various topologies such as point-to-point, broadcast and mesh networking, and can communicate directly with smart phones.
ESP32-H2 integrates Bluetooth 5.2 technology and supports its new functions. The function of LE synchronous channels in Bluetooth 5.2 enables the chip to support the next generation Bluetooth audio technology, LE Audio. LE Audio not only has enhanced Bluetooth audio performance, but also supports broadcast audio, enabling audio enjoyment. The low-power Bluetooth power control and Enhanced Attribute Protocol functions of Bluetooth 5.2 can further improve the working efficiency of the equipment. ESP32-H2 also provides full support for the Bluetooth mesh protocol, and will also support the Bluetooth mesh 1.1 protocol that will be launched soon.
the combination of IEEE 82.15.4 and Bluetooth LE will also enable ESP32-H2 to build smart home devices based on Matter protocol and realize the interconnection of multiple ecosystems. Based on ESP32-H2 and other Wi-Fi series SoCs, Lexin can provide a full-featured Matter protocol solution, including terminal devices connected by Wi-Fi or Thread, and a Thread Border Router built by SoC combination.
ESP32-H2 is equipped with RISC-V 32-bit single-core processor, clocked at 96 MHz, built-in 256 KB SRAM, and supports external flash expansion. It has 26 programmable GPIO pins and supports ADC, SPI, UART, I2C, I2S, RMT, GDMA and PWM. ESP32-H2 also has perfect security mechanisms, including secure startup based on ECC, flash encryption based on AES-128/256-XTS, digital signature and HMAC module for protecting device identity security, and hardware algorithm accelerator for improving performance, which can provide reliable secure connection performance for IOT devices.

ESP32-H2 will support Thread 1.x and Zigbee 3.x As an active member of CSA Connection Standards Alliance, Lexin will also closely follow the development of the Matter protocol to build a safe and seamless smart home device. ESP32-H2 is still supported by Lexin's mature Internet of Things development framework ESP-IDF. ESP-IDF has successfully empowered hundreds of millions of IOT devices, and ESP users can easily build ESP32-H2 applications based on familiar development platforms.
