In "Duke Luyi", a major unjust case was told, because Wu Zhirong, an official, asked Zhuang Tingyi for a bribe and got a Compendium of Ming History. Wu Zhirong found many inappropriate words related to the royal family in this Collection of Letters of the Ming Dynasty, and immediately reported them to the court. Then the banker executed 72 people, involving thousands of people, and Zhuang Tingzhen, who had been dead for many years, was also cut open and killed.

This unjust case is not needed by the plot, it is made up and does exist in history. This is a case of Ming history, one of the literary prisons in Qing Dynasty. The real case is that Zhu Guozhen, the minister of the Ming Dynasty, was a scholar during the Wanli period, and later became a university student in Shangshu and Wuyingdian. However, because of his poor relationship with Wei Zhongxian, he resigned and went back to his hometown to live a retirement life. Zhu Guozhen presided over the compilation of the official national history of the Ming Dynasty before his resignation.

So he wanted to write a history book about the Ming Dynasty before he died. He is from Huzhou, and his neighbor's name is Zhuang Tingyi. Neighbors were rich, but Zhuang Tingzhi was blinded by illness, so he asked Zuo Qiuming, a historian in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, to create a history book. Zuo Qiuming disagreed, so Zhuang Tingzhi bought a draft of Ming History from Zhu Guozhen's house and hired someone to edit and publish it.

In order to write this book, Zhuang Tingyi spent a lot of money and hired many Jiangnan celebrities to participate in editing and revising. In the twelfth year of Shunzhi, Zhuang Tingyi died of illness, and his father Zhuang Yuncheng continued to contribute to editing. In the seventeenth year of Shunzhi, he finally carved this Ming History into a book. Wu Zhirong came to ask for a bribe because he was insatiable for bankers' property. After reading this book, he opened the curtain of unjust cases.
