During World War II, the classification of Japanese naval ranks was different from that of the army, and it was divided into two categories: non-commissioned officers (officers) and secret service non-commissioned officers, quasi-commissioned officers, junior non-commissioned officers and soldiers (the above four categories are collectively referred to as naval soldiers), and the latter was divided into two periods before and after 1944.
