Hide your strength and bide your time. When Liu Bei was still in Cao Cao's hands, he did this trick to make Cao Cao relax his vigilance against him. Later, Cao Cao staged the drama of cooking wine and discussing heroes
The following is Yi Zhongtian Teacher's analysis
Cao Cao is very good at employing people. Cao Cao is good at employing people because he knows people, that is, because he can see people. He can see people to the third level, so for the arrogant Yuan Shu He didn't look down on the arrogant Yuan Shao, but looked at Liu Bei differently, and said, "Today's heroes are the only ones who make you and Cao'er." This story was later interpreted into a very exciting novel plot by "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". This is "Green Plum Boiled Wine and Discussing Heroes". The story in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is probably like this -
Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty Dong Cheng, the father-in-law of the Han Dynasty, received a secret edict from Emperor Xian's belt, "Kill Cao Cao." That is to say, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty hid a secret edict in his belt to Dong Cheng, asking him to kill Cao Cao. Then Dong Cheng found some like-minded people to carry out this palace coup, and he found Liu Bei among them. After finding Liu Bei, Dong Cheng and Liu Bei formed a blood alliance, which was to make a glass of wine, put the blood in it, and drink blood wine. Then "set up the title of the book" and wrote a "declaration of justice". Everyone came to sign. We must defend the emperor and eliminate Cao's thieves. Everyone signed: General Dong Cheng of Chariot and Cavalry, and General Liu Bei of Zuo. After finishing this matter, Liu Bei told Dong Cheng that this matter was very confidential and we should be careful not to arouse the suspicion of Cao Cao. So Liu Bei returned to where he lived and started planting vegetables.
* Liu Bei has been running around in the troubled times of the Three Kingdoms, looking for opportunities to get ahead. How could he be working in the court with Cao Cao, and also participate in a palace coup to kill Cao Cao? Woolen cloth? It turned out that after Liu Bei suppressed the Yellow Turban Army, he gained the attention of some princes at that time. Tao Qian, the shepherd of Xuzhou, asked Liu Bei for help in times of crisis. Later, Tao Qian handed Xuzhou over to Liu Bei before he died of illness, but Liu Bei was attacked by Yuan Shu and Lu Bu. , Liu Bei could not resist, so he was forced to defect to Cao Cao.
So that day, Liu Bei was planting vegetables. Cao Cao sent someone to invite him, so Liu Bei had to follow the visitor to Cao Mansion. The first thing Cao Cao said when he saw Liu Bei was, the general is doing great things at home! At that time, Liu Bei was so frightened that Cao Cao said, "Why are you growing vegetables at home?" Oh, it turned out to be this, and Liu Bei was relieved. Then Cao Cao took Liu Bei to the garden and said, "I encountered something when I was marching, that is, there was no water to drink, so I told the soldiers that there was a plum forest in front of them, and there were many green plums in it to quench their thirst." , all the soldiers had saliva in their mouths. This is the origin of the allusion "looking at plums to quench thirst"; now that the plums are ripe again, I think of this past event and feel that these green plums are just right for making wine, so I cook them with green plums. I bought some wine and invited you to drink with me. While drinking, dark clouds began to appear in the sky. Cao Cao said, "Look at this "dragon follows the cloud, tiger follows the wind". If there are clouds, there must be a dragon. If there is wind, there must be a tiger. Tigers go with the wind, and dragons They are with the clouds. Look at the clouds in the sky. They look like dragons. What are the characteristics of dragons? Dragon is fickle and ambitious, just like a hero. Hey, shall we discuss who is a hero today? Liu Bei said, "Look, how am I, Liu Bei, qualified to discuss heroes? I don't even recognize a few people." Cao Cao said it doesn't matter. If you don't know these people, you must have heard of them. Look, who are the heroes? Liu Bei said, for example, Yuan Shu, Cao Cao said, "Withered bones in the grave", Yuan Shao, "What's the need to worry about", Liu Bei counted one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and Cao Cao said he was not a hero. Liu Bei said, then Liu Bei didn't know who the hero was, so Cao Cao pointed his finger at Liu Bei, then pointed at himself and said:
"The only heroes in the world today are your envoy and Cao Er."
p>Liu Bei was eating at that time, probably holding chopsticks in one hand and a spoon in the other. "Click", the chopsticks and spoon fell to the ground. Cao Cao said, "Why are you doing this?" It happened that there was thunder in the sky, and Liu Bei said, oh, look at this thunder, this thunder scared me. Then when Liu Bei returned to his residence, he told Guan Yu and Zhang Fei that we couldn't stay in this place anymore, because Cao Cao's words were equivalent to saying that I would be the one to compete with him in the world in the future. Can he tolerate me? We have to find a chance to leave. Then it happened that Cao Cao needed someone to intercept Yuan Shu, so Liu Bei went. This is the general plot of "Green plums boiling wine and discussing heroes". This section of "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is very exciting from a literary perspective, and it is generally true from a historical perspective, because all of its sayings have their origins. , For example, what Cao Cao said is recorded in "Three Kingdoms", and Dong's acceptance of Emperor Xian's secret edict on clothes and belts is recorded in "Three Kingdoms" and "Book of the Later Han".
* "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" writes about cooking green plums and drinking wine to discuss heroes. It is written that Liu Bei secretly participated in the overthrow of Cao Cao's belt edict, so he had a ghost in his heart. He heard Cao Cao say "Today is the next day." After saying this, "Heroes can only be envoys and cao'er", Cao Cao thought that he knew the inside story, so he was so frightened that he dropped his chopsticks to the ground and was about to run away as soon as he returned home.
Does the Yidaizhao incident really exist? If it existed, it was still in the conspiracy stage. Why did Liu Bei run away in a panic? What does Mr. Yi Zhongtian think about this matter?
My opinion is this. The Clothes and Belt Edict is recorded in both the Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms and the Book of the Later Han Dynasty. It is probably possible. Let’s take a look at how it is recorded in the Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms. The record in "Three Kingdoms" is as follows:
"The chariot and cavalry general Dong accepted the secret edict in the belt of Emperor Xian and was to kill Duke Cao, but the former emperor had not yet done anything."
This was what Liu Bei started. Time did not interfere with this matter.
"At that time, Cao Cao calmly said to the late master: Today, the only heroes in the world are your envoy and Cao Er."
It happened that Cao Cao didn't know what was going on at this time, and he followed him inexplicably. Liu Bei said this, so what about Liu Bei?
"Sui and Cheng conspired together."
It has the two words "Sui and", which means that Liu Beicai and Dong Cheng formed an alliance. It happened that Liu Bei was sent out by Cao Cao to attack Yuan Shao again, but he "had not yet done it", so he did not help in the attack. These two coincidences were too coincidental, and there were logical problems, so "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" reversed this order. Liu Bei first participated in Dong Cheng's conspiracy, and then Cao Cao said that sentence again, so Liu Bei ran away. . This makes sense logically, but Liu Bei's character is questionable. Didn't you and Dong Cheng swear a blood alliance and sign a book title determined to kill that thief? How come you just saw a well rope and ran away like a snake before things started? You should stay in the capital and wait and see for a while to see if there is a chance to make a move. So to Liu Bei, is Long Live Lord's life more important, or is your Liu Bei's life more important? Is this how you become a loyal minister? Aren’t loyal ministers supposed to dedicate themselves to their country? Shouldn’t they sacrifice their lives for the country? Shouldn’t they share the emperor’s worries? Why did you just run away? There is another problem. Then the question focuses on one issue, that is, did Liu Bei ask for it on his own initiative to intercept Yuan Shu, or was Cao Cao sending him?
The statement in "Three Kingdoms: The Biography of the First Lord" makes us feel that Cao Cao sent him, called "Meeting Envoys". This "meeting" happened to be sent out, so Liu Bei was not greedy for life and afraid of death. , It's not betrayal, it's just involuntary. This is a cover for Liu Bei. However, the records in "Three Kingdoms·Cheng Yu Biography" are different. How does "Cheng Yu Biography" record it? After Liu Bei led troops to intercept Yuan Shu, Cheng Yu and Guo Jia got the news and immediately went to Cao Cao. Then Cheng Yu said something, what did Cheng Yu say? If Yu and others are sincere, they must have different intentions if they use them as soldiers.”
How do you understand this sentence? It was Liu Bei who not only took the initiative to ask to go out and intercept Yuan Shu - because Yuan Shu was preparing to join Yuan Shao at that time, but also borrowed troops from Cao Cao, and Cao Cao also lent him troops. Cheng Yu said that this was evidence that Liu Bei had different intentions. After hearing this, Cao Cao regretted and sent people to chase him again, but they could not come back. Then as soon as Liu Bei arrived in Xuzhou, he killed the Xuzhou governor Che Zhou and occupied Xuzhou himself. Of course, he was surprisingly lucky. It happened that Yuan Shu died at this time. From this we can draw a conclusion that Liu Bei took the initiative to intercept Yuan Shu, and his interception of Yuan Shu was an excuse. In fact, he wanted to escape from Cao Cao's control.
The fundamental reason why Liu Bei did this is that he is a hero. Since he is a hero, he will not willingly rely on others. He will have to leave sooner or later. The direct reason was that Cao Cao said those words, which exposed his thoughts, and he felt that he could no longer remain secretive. So the conclusion that can be deduced from this is that Cao Cao said this. But why did Cao Cao say this? Cao Cao said this to make it clear that the two of us are fighting for the world. Since Cao Cao thinks so, he should kill Liu Bei. Isn't there one less person fighting for the world? Even if he didn't kill Liu Bei, he would at least detain Liu Bei and put him under house arrest. How could he let him go? Why didn't he tell him when Fang ran away and why did he still lend him the army? What do you call this? Letting the tiger return to the mountain makes it even more powerful. With Cao Cao's cunning or cleverness, he shouldn't have done such a stupid thing. After such inference, we in turn feel that the entire incident is suspicious, and the entire incident is suspicious.
