1. If it is a medical accident, all expenses related to autopsy shall be borne by the medical unit, and the family of the deceased or the unit where the deceased belongs shall not bear any expenses related to autopsy;
2. If it is not a medical accident, the hospital will only bear the autopsy expenses, and other expenses, such as the transportation fee and storage fee of the body, will be borne by the family of the deceased or the unit where the deceased belongs.
Can the autopsy family be present?
Autopsy families can be present. The presence of autopsy family members is to ensure the fairness of the autopsy process. According to the relevant laws and regulations, in order to determine the cause of death, with the approval of the person in charge of the public security organ at or above the county level, the corpse can be dissected, and the family members of the deceased can be notified to be present to sign the notice of autopsy. Family members can also designate doctors, friends or medical lawyers to observe the autopsy process.

Where both parties entrust technical appraisal of medical malpractice, the appraisal fee shall be paid in advance through negotiation.
Where the administrative department of public health transfers the technical appraisal of medical malpractice, the parties who put forward the dispute settlement of medical malpractice shall pay the appraisal fee in advance. If it is identified as a medical accident, the appraisal fee shall be paid by the medical institution; If it is not recognized as a medical accident, the appraisal fee shall be paid by the party applying for medical accident dispute settlement.
The health administrative department of the local people's government at or above the county level shall, after receiving the report of major medical negligence of medical institutions, submit it to the medical association for technical appraisal of medical accidents, and the appraisal fee shall be paid by the medical institutions.
