The League of Legends S12 World Championship groupings have been released. Some players may not be aware of them yet. Let’s take a look at the League of Legends S12 World Championship group drawings.

Play-in Groups

Group A

FNC (European No. 3), BYG ( Southeast Asia No. 2), DFM (Japan), EG (North America No. 3), LLL (Brazil), CHF (Oceania)

Group B

DRX (LCK No. 4), RNG (LPL No. 4), SGB (Vietnam No. 2), MAD (Europe No. 4), IW (Turkey), ISG (Latin America)

Competition format

September 29~ October 4th. There will be a single round-robin BO1 within the group, the third and fourth place will play BO5, the winner will play BO5 with the second place in the other group, and the final winner and the first place in the group will advance to the group stage.

If both FNC and MAD advance to the group stage, MAD will not be subject to the rule of "no teams from the same division appearing in the group". But if one of FNC and MAD fails to qualify for the group stage, the rules will remain unchanged.

Group B

JDG (LPL No. 1), G2 (Europe No. 2), DK (LCK No. 3), play-in teams

RGE (No. 1 in Europe), TES (No. 2 in LPL), GAM (No. 1 in Vietnam), qualifying teams

Group D

GEN (LCK 1 No.), CFO (No. 1 in Southeast Asia), 100T (No. 2 in North America), qualifying teams

Competition system

The first round will be from October 7th to 10th, and the second round will be from October 13th~16th. Double round-robin BO1 within the group, the top two in the group advance to the knockout stage.
