This has never happened. After you click "Home", you should be able to see your little avatar and the blank status bar next to it. You can just change it there. If there is still no status bar, you can click "Personal Home Page" and then click "More Status" next to your current status. A window will pop up showing your previous status. There is also a window at the top where you can change the status. You can just enter it there. If it still doesn't work, you can only download the campus communication software to change the status.
