Peter's Cartoon is the first foreign cartoon I compiled, and it is also the best one among dozens of foreign cartoons I compiled. The success of this set of paintings is the reason why I have devoted myself to studying world comics for more than ten years. During 1986, when I was working in the art editing room of Jiangsu People's Publishing House, there was a meeting in the club to inform the editors to choose a topic for a new book. At that time, I was busy painting all day, and I couldn't think of any good topics at all, so I couldn't help worrying. Just then, Mr. Ke Ming, who was in the same editing room, fell ill. I went to talk to him about it. He gave me an idea to edit Peter's comic books. Peter's cartoon is an immortal work, which was introduced to China in 1950s, but it soon stopped. By the 1980s, apart from some old cartoonists, few people in China knew about Peter and his cartoons. Mr. Ke Ming is a famous cartoonist of the older generation in China. Of course, he knows Peter's comics very well. Under his guidance, I went to the home of the old cartoonists Gao Made and Mr. Tian Yuan who worked in Xinhua Daily, looking for information about Peter's cartoons, but the result was very disappointing. They all say that Peter's comic books were lost during the Cultural Revolution. Mr. Tian Yuan and I are very familiar with each other, and we often associate with each other. When I heard that I was going to compile a collection of Peter cartoons, I wrote enthusiastically to introduce me to Shanghai to find Mr. Zhang Leping, so I found Mr. Zhang Leping's home excitedly. I didn't expect Mr. Zhang to be ill in bed at this time, so ill that he couldn't even speak. Two young female nurses were busy giving him injections, so I had to go back empty-handed ... After many twists and turns, I finally compiled a thin collection of Pied cartoons at 1987. Unexpectedly, this cartoon was very popular with readers and won a cloisonne bestseller trophy in the "Reading Music" activity of the May 4th Youth Day. I was greatly encouraged by my success in the first battle, and soon I sorted out the complete works of the best-selling German comic book Father and Son. 1989 I asked my friend to find some Russian versions of Picard's comic hardcover albums from abroad, and I'm going to start compiling the second edition of Picard's works. Just this year, I saw many autographed works presented to Mr. Hua by Peter during his visit to China, 1955, some of which may be unofficial publications, which are very rare. In this way,1June, 990, with the support of Mr. Hua, I compiled the second edition of Peter's Comics, named Peter's Life Comics. This comic book is very popular with readers, and we can see the best-selling scenes of that year by taking only one example: 1993 During the 7th National Book Fair held in Wuhan, I walked into a bookstore near the Yellow Crane Tower and saw a comic book named Pied's Life hanging in a conspicuous place, so I asked the owner about the sales of the book, and the other party happily replied, "Wow, it was less than two weeks last month.
1997, Yilin Publishing House finally bought the copyright of Pied comics. Combined with the German version of Peter's big picture album, I sorted out this Peter comic book. This third edition is undoubtedly the best collection of Peter comics in the world today, because it combines all the comics in the most authoritative Russian and German Peter comic books.
Peter's cartoons are favored by readers in China and have been selling well for more than ten years. On the first day of the opening of the 11th National Book Fair, this collection of paintings once topped the bestseller list.
In addition to these three representative versions, Huntsman also compiled some other versions of Peter's comic books, but the format is basically different from the binding format, and the content has not changed.
