Sweet potato wine is a specialty wine in Danzhou, Hainan. It is usually made from sweet potatoes that are abundant in Paipu, Dacheng and other towns in Danzhou and carefully brewed with unique techniques. It is quite famous in the local area and is known as "Sweet Potato Wine". Known as the "Moutai" of Danzhou, it is a good wine for Danzhou people to entertain distinguished guests.

Danzhou sweet potato wine comes from the northern area of ??Pingtan. In the ninth year of Shunzhi (1652), Yang Guangdou, the ancestor of the hotel village, migrated from Fuqing, opened up mountains and seas, and worked diligently. Later, two brothers, Yang Changhua and Yang Changbao, the fourth descendants of Yang Guangdou, saved money and converted the thatched cottage built by their ancestors into a new three-in-one residence.

The descendants inherited the entrepreneurial legacy of their ancestors and successively built oil mills, wineries, pawnshops, and banks, and developed rural industry and commerce in the northern part of Pingtan. The "Pingtan Yang Family Collection" compiled by the Pingtan Yang Zhen Academic Research Association introduces the hotel village like this: "The hotel village in Pingyuan Town is elegantly known as Xinghua Village... The ancestors of the Yang family opened a winery and used sweet potatoes to make wine. It was famous far and wide. Hence the name.
